I highly recommend The Story Hotel Pera. The staff were incredible. So helpful and friendly. Especially Mustafa, Furkan, Ihsan and James. The room was lovely. Comfortable, clean and well equipped. The little touches were so helpful. Especially the little portable MiFi router that they gave us to carry around with us during the day. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is central to everywhere we wanted to be. Loved our stay.

Recently stayed at the hotel with family. We were very impressed with the hotel overall. The staff were peasant and extremely helpful, always looking to go the extra mile to help with your needs. The location of the hotel was excellent as it just off the main Isteqlal street. The rooms had classic decor and were clean. We didn’t miss the hotel not having a breakfast service as there were plenty of options on Isteqlal street offering traditional Turkish or modern breakfast. A special mention to M.K., Ihsan, Furqan and all the team at the Story Hotel Istanbul. We look forward to returning in the future and we will recommend the hotel to family and friends.

“Best base for a week in Istanbul”

Last week my husband and I had 7 nights at The Story Hotel with our son and his girlfriend. We had 2 rooms on the street side on level 2 and 3. I'm a light sleeper and the noise from outside was totally ok. The rooms were a generous size with a queen bed, lounge and a cabinet with a sink, bar fridge etc. The rooms had an opening window if you did want fresh air. We loved the hotel for its location, cleanliness, airconditioning that worked really well (and was for our room only so we only had on when we needed it), friendliness of the staff and ease of dealing with the staff. The hotel is in a small street just 1 building from Istiklal caddesi which is a mainly pedestrian street full of shops and places to eat. This meant we would wake up in the morning and walk just a minute to a number of easy options for a quick breakfast or take way coffee (Mado, EspressoLab, etc). There is also a supermarket just the other side of Istiklal Caddesi where we picked up yoghurt, fruit etc to keep in our fridge. Public transport is readily accessaible from the hotel. To get to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Egyptian market you just walk down the hill to Tophane and go on T1 and go a few stops to to Eminonu for the Egyptian market, to Gulhane for Topkapi/Basilica Cistern or Sultanahmet for the Blue Mosque/Sultanahmet. Coming back from these places we tended to then get T1 to Karakoy and catch the funicular up and walk just a couple of minutes on Istiklal Caddesi back to the hotel (or take longer if we stopped to shop or have an icecream). To get a ferry (for example to go to the Asian side) you can get the funicular down to Karakoy and get the ferry to Kadikoy. We also used a couple of times the underground train from Sishane (which is also close. The public transport from the hotel is super easy and meant that we did things like went twice to the Blue Mosque as we wanted to see it again on our last afternoon so we headed there before heading to the Asian side again for a 2nd dinner over there. Walking to places to eat from the hotel was also really easy. We were able to walk to some great places to eat from the hotel - 2 really good Turkish Breakfasts about 15 mins walk at Yigit Sofram Gozleme ve Kahvalti and Van Kahvalti Evi and 2 really good not expensive Turkish dinners about 5 mins walk away at Durumzade and Babel Ocakbasi Nevizade. The staff are incredibly helpful and make it so easy for you to ask questions - someone is always on the front desk but you can also send a WhatsApp message 24 hours a day if out of the hotel and need help with something. We are so glad that this is where we stayed for 7 nights. It exceeded the expectations of the 2 generations in our group.

“Very warm welcome, clean rooms”

Very warm welcome with comfortable and clean rooms. The hotel is right in the centre off Istiklal St. The staff did everything for us to have the best possible experience of our stay and were very friendly. We will definitely come back to this hotel on future visits.
