Really excellent hotel, loved the Turkish style & charm. We deliberately avoided the international chains (Four Seasons, Intercontinental etc) & wanted to try something different. Loved the location, breakfast with panoramic views, including the Bosporus, 2mins from Metro, restaurants nearby. Free water bottles & tea/coffee making facilities in room. No pool but treatments room including Turkish sauna. We had dinner in the restaurant on arrival- attentive service & delicious. It was quiet though, but we were grateful for it after travelling in from London. We flew into SAW airport (there are 2 airports-make sure you check yr ticket) then onto on the Metro (super clean, safe & efficient). You can use your Visa card at the Metro or buy a Travelcard which you can top up. Press button on bottom right on screen for your language of choice. Makes it super easy. You’ll need to pay about 200 lira to get from SAW airport to Sultanhamet. ITS/International airport, takes an hour only by Metro. Our return flight was from there. All & all a pretty fabulous stay. We’ll be back!

Mr Omar, you have organised a wonderful hotel in central Sultanahmet. Thank you all for a memorable cherishable stay on our 5 days trip to Istanbul... Sultanhan Hotel - Special Class is a 4* hotel located a couple of blocks away from the main tourist sites of Istanbul, which is a major advantage of staying in this hotel. The location of the hotel is also convenient for tourists like us because of easy access to various kinds of public transport like the tram, bus, and the metro. Taxis are also available at the doorstep and we used it for traveling to the international airport for our return flight home. We had booked online one Deluxe Triple room for my family of three. The room was on the third floor with windows facing the street of the main entrance. I would say that everything (the furnishings and the décor) in the hotel turned out to be pretty much the way it looked in pictures. The room had two comfortable queen size beds, a chair, a small writing desk with a mirror, a lamp, mini fridge, side tables with drawers and lamps, a LCD TV with plenty of channels, a small round table for meals, a rack to hang jackets/clothes, an ironing board with the iron, air conditioner, coffee/tea maker and a large cupboard. We were traveling with good amount of luggage but the room would not feel too cramped when the bags would have to be opened. The bathroom had a WC, a large basin with huge mirror and a bathtub with shower and a glass door partition. Basic toiletries like towels, hand towels, face tissues, shampoo bottles and conditioner bottles are provided. Hot water in the shower is always available. There is a steel towel rack and a hairdryer in the bathroom. We noticed water dripping from the ceiling in one corner of the bathroom. Upon closer look, we noticed black mould in the patch of the ceiling where water droplets were forming. We complained to the front desk manager at the reception and asked to be moved to a room without such issues. He assured us of moving to another room the next morning when it became available. We got a better room the next day and stayed comfortably for the remaining 3 nights. The hotel has a large lobby with lots of sofas, tables and lounge chairs. There is a bar at one end of the lobby and the reception at the other end. A lot of good looking handicraft pieces adorn the tables and walls and there are large chandeliers hanging in the lobby. There is no swimming pool in the hotel. There is a Turkish bath / hammam in the basement of the hotel and a small discount is available to residents of the hotel. Breakfast was included in the room price we paid. Breakfast variety is sufficiently large and is served at the covered rooftop on 6th floor. There was the regular white bread with jam and butter, yogurt, cereals and cornflakes, hot and cold milk, juices, tea and coffee, some whole fruits, pastry and cake, variety of olives and cheese, boiled eggs, other egg preparations, salami, etc. The breakfast area is the best attraction of the hotel because of the 360 degree view of Istanbul available from there. We could see the sea of Marmara, the Golden horn, Bosphorus strait and the various world famous mosques from there while enjoying the delicious breakfast. There are lot of tables and chairs because of which it never gets difficult to find a table to sit at. The check in and check out process is smooth and the person at the reception was always helpful with taking care of our small requests and providing some guidance on navigating the big city. Overall, we’d a very pleasant and peaceful stay and would recommend this property to any visitor with a good budget in mind.
