Although the hotel looks a bit dated, overall our experience in staying in the hotel for a week is wonderful! The staff are welcoming and friendly. Our room is really clean and bright. No foul smell anywhere. Im just not a fan of their breakfast coz the menu is the same everyday.. but still again, I would book this hotel again if we go back to Istanbul!

“1st time in Istanbul and it didn't disappoint”

This was my 1st time in Istanbul. Came with friends as we're getting treatment done at the Mayclink (hospital and dentist). The hotel is in easy reach of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. This was my 1st time in Istanbul. Came with friends as we're getting treatment done at the Mayclink (hospital and dentist). The hotel is in easy reach of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The rooms are lovely and cleaned every single day. Had a massage here and it was absolutely fantastic as was my visit to the hair salon. The gentlemen (security) who stand in the main foyer morning noon and night are lovely and always speak and open the doors for you and nothing has been too much trouble. Breakfast was just something else. I've never seen such variety! All the waiters and waitresses were lovely and very attentive to ensure we had everything we needed. My daily cleaning lady was amazing. Always made sure I had plenty of necessities in my room. I can't remember her name but I was in room 204). I can't wait to come back in a few months to have the the remainder of my treatment. I only wish I'd had more time to explore the many gems of Istanbul. Thank you Point Hotel Barbaros xx

“Great Housekeeping”

Housekeeping was very sweet , friendly and helpful . Our housekeeper was Guilten and she was very lovely and welcoming in the mornings and made our rooms very clean and tidy . The rooms were very nice and big , and all the staff were friendly including at breakfast time

“Being vegan after surgery with Mayclinic”

I stayed at the hotel after having a surgical procedure, which left me feeling very self conscious and also not able to see very well, so I stayed in my room for the week and had to order from the room service set menu. I am vegan and had been reassured that I would be catered to. Unfortunately this was not the case. Breakfast was included in my stay, but there wasn’t a single vegan room service breakfast option at all! I did order a fruit platter a couple of times and had to pay for it as extra, and actually it wasn’t enough anyway. I didn’t eat breakfast for about 5 days, and had to take medication on an empty stomach, which isn’t ideal! Thankfully I’m a strong girl and quite resilient, but still it’s not ideal. I did eventually feel ok to go to the restaurant to see what options there were. It was still quite limited for me, but I was happy to get some toast and fruit and juice, and take it back to my room to eat. But the last time I did this, I had my food taken off me because I wasn’t aloud to take it to my room and could only order from the set room service menu. I explained that I would have got something from the room service menu, but there wasn’t a single thing that I could eat, they did not care. The young girl still took my food. And I was very embarrassed and very upset and of course hungry. I was booked there by the mayclinic who I had my procedure with, and informed the nurses daily about the situation with the food. Unfortunately it felt like I was being difficult, which is quite common when you are vegan, but that’s not really my problem. On the whole, the hotel is lovely, clean and comfortable. The few food options I had were very nice and the staff, other than the last day, were very efficient and polite. My favourite person was the house keeping lady Gulten. She brightened my very long days! Very kind and smiley. I don’t think she realised what a difference she made to my stay. And obviously kept my room beautifully clean and tidy. I don’t know if I would stay here again because of what happened with my breakfast, but everything else is lovely. I think if I hadn’t been on my own, someone could have gone out and got more food options for me. But it is something to consider if you are a loan person in the same situation as me. That is the reason for my review
