Review for Hilton Istanbul Our stay at the Hilton Istanbul was truly exceptional! From the moment we reached out, Gonca's personal and warm email reply, addressing us by name, set the tone for a memorable experience. The hospitality of the team was outstanding. Mr. Murat personally met with us to ensure we had everything we needed, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The hotel's location is ideal, and the recent renovations have made it even more inviting. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. Zeynap prepared the most delightful omelets, Mehmet made the most delicious pide and freshly baked hot bread were unforgettable. Yarmugh and Furqaans attentive service during breakfast added to the experience. The spa is stunning and adds a touch of luxury, although the prices are on the higher side. Overall, the Hilton Istanbul exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it for a comfortable and welcoming stay in the city!

“Lovely experience”

Staff were amazing especially Gonca and mustafa. Staff always catered to all our needs with smiles. The hotel was exceptionally nice and clean. The breakfast was varied and delicious. Will be happy to recommend the hotel following my stay. This is my 3rd time here.

“Pefect location and service”

Perfect location. A walk to the old European area around Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cistern. Perfect location. A walk to the old European area around Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cistern. However, if you are tired the tram which takes you to these attractions and also down to the ports at Eminonu, Galata bridge and tram across to the new European side to Galata Tower, Dolmabahe Palace and Galataport areas. Also, metro not far away which gets you easily to Taksim square and the Asian side but we prefer to use the ferry from Eminonu to get to Uskudar and Kadikoy. Public transport so cheap and easily accessible. We didn’t use uber once while there. Even caught the bus to the largest and newest mosque on the Asian side. Word of warning. I did get scammed out of $40 when a local at the Laleli-Istanbul University tram stop offered to top my card up for me. But instead said it didn’t work, moved me to the next stand and then did the same thing while his friend subsequently stored the credit on his travel card. I felt pressured as there was a line behind me, but better to do it yourself otherwise put yourself at risk of a scam. Only found out after we had jumped on the tram and check my credit card transactions. It wasn’t a lot of money but soured an otherwise amazing time in Istanbul with the locals. Due to the central location of the hotel it does get a lot of traffic and our shuttle from and to the airport took a while to get to hotel side alley but hotel staff very helpful in getting luggage to and from the shuttle. Thank you Onur for your help. Roughly an hour or so from the Asian and European International airport. Amazing service from all staff from the time we arrived until we left. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and Gonca stuck out each day to make us feel welcome at breakfast, Saime who cleaned our rooms was very attentive, serviced our rooms immediately after we left for the day and even let us know when she had a day off. She kept rooms super clean and sorted out an extra doona when we were cold. Even a trainee helped me purchase a dozen mineral waters at a street stall and talked to the shop keeper for me. Found concierge helpful enough and gave great ideas on areas to visit. The hotel map of Istanbul is fantastic. However, thought they liked their recommended cruises and taxis when we wanted to travel like the locals and enjoyed the ferry, tram, metro and bus system and relied on google for this. Literally a few dollars instead of an expensive cruise you get stuck on. Breakfast spread was amazing. Continually stocked with food and if near the end of the session they would ask for last orders. They even have their own wood fired oven. Our family are fussy eaters but it had enough of everything to keep them going. For coffee, the soy cappuccino was ok but not Starbuck quality of frothing so stuck to Turkish coffee while I was there. Admittedly after 10 days we were getting a little sick of the food as expected. Room service was also sufficient for when the family was too tired to venture out to a restaurant at night. I did however find it strange that we couldn’t bring food back to the room from outside due to their hygiene standards. Never seen this at another Hilton or in fact any other hotel but put this down to Turkey still being a developing country. They were able to give us neighbouring rooms which was great. Other Hilton’s charge extra to make this happen. First night one room had an issue with the aircon but it was quickly fixed and was working fine when we returned that evening. Great to have windows that allow fresh air to the rooms. I noticed some of the negative comments on trip advisor around the room conditions. While they are clean and functional the kids did notice the odd patching to the wallpaper and I did notice the attention to detail in the silicone beading around the marble showers but I put that down to Turkish tradesmen standards. However, comparing to other Hilton’s which are newer i.e. Hiroshima or Doha Pearl it was looking slightly tired but probably not enough to warrant a refurbish for a while. Rooms smaller than other Hilton’s. Anyhow the family were all very happy with the rooms for our 10 day stay. Couldn’t fault them. Given the cost differential between other Hilton’s and this Hilton I think very justifiable difference. We did not use the facilities which look great. Steam room etc. Initially disappointed the Turkish Bath was actually not a bath like a Japanese onsen but rather a massage but understand the historical and religious context after visiting the Topkapi Palace of no still water under Islam. Missed a swimming pool as well. Overall an exceptional 10 day stay with the family. Thank you to all the staff for your efforts.
