My stay here was nothing short of amazing! The top-tier service exceeded all expectations—staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. The rustic vibe of the hotel added a unique charm that elevated the entire experience. The rooftop was our favorite spot, offering breathtaking views and a perfect place to unwind. “Great otoman style hotel”

excellent customer service from every member of the staff..the room was neat and otomam style.. modest, glamorous, cosmopolitan, sensual, multi-layered, extravagantly.! Breakfast was complimentary and delicious. The sunrise and sunset view in the rooftop was amazing!

I recently stayed at the Dersaadet Hotel in Istanbul, and while there were some definite highlights, my overall experience was mixed. For the low price, I guess it’s close to a five-star experience, but I’d realistically rate it three stars. The Pros: • The staff were absolutely incredible—friendly, attentive, and professional. A special shout-out to the waiter at breakfast who went above and beyond to make my mornings enjoyable. • The rooftop dining area was a standout feature. The views were breathtaking, and it was a lovely place to start the day. • The location is very convenient if you’re looking to explore the Old Town. But not the best to get further afield. The Cons: • Noise was my biggest issue. Staying in a ground-floor room made it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Street noise, including pedestrians just talking, was constant, and I could clearly hear the guest above me walking and sneezing. Additionally, with several mosques nearby, the call to prayer occurs five times a day, starting as early as 6:30 AM. While it’s a beautiful cultural experience, the volume is extremely loud, so be prepared for an early wake-up. At my second hotel in another area, the call was not as loud. The hotel would greatly benefit from upgrading its windows or investing in better soundproofing to address these disruptions. • The room itself was extremely small, which I expected as a solo traveler, but the very, very, very tight space made it difficult to move around. For example, I had to move the chair every time I wanted to open the window. The shower stall was so cramped that washing up felt awkward—even for someone with an average build (5’5” / 165 cm and 135 lbs / 61 kg). Simple tasks like bending to scrub my legs were challenging and restrictive. Additionally, the toilet seat was loose, which added to the overall discomfort. • The furnishings could use an upgrade. The pillows were lumpy, the duvet felt subpar, and the thermostat seemed unreliable—it kept overheating the room, forcing me to open a window for fresh air. • There was no convenient outlet near the bed; the closest options were across the room or in the bathroom, which was frustrating for charging my phone. • The TV selection was disappointing, with very few channels and only two in English. • While the Old Town location is convenient for sightseeing, it felt contrived and repetitive after a couple of days and lacked good dining options. You will get harassed by vendors left and right. I later moved to a hotel in the Beyoğlu area, which I found more central, vibrant, and authentic, with a wider range of restaurants and attractions, without the harassment. In summary: If you’re looking for a quaint old hotel with excellent service and a convenient location, the Dersaadet Hotel is a solid choice—especially for a short stay. However, the noise, room comfort, and limited good dining options in the area mean I’d likely stay in a different neighborhood next time.
