Altinorfoz looks like a tiny stronghold corner in Mediterranean sea for people/families trying to stay away from the stressful life of cities. It has great location. It is located at the bottom of a small bay which is like a swimming pool in the sea! This tiny bay, with its flat water, is like a therapy area. The beach water is extremely clean and has blue flag. Beside the main beach where the ground is made of wood there is a small sandy beach and a very clean swimming pool. Although the hotel is a half board hotel there is an additional free snack service starting at 3.00 PM which is like a light late lunch! Also there is a la carte service for the beach such as fresh fish, pizza, pasta, French fries, sandwiches, beer etc. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel's unique atmosphere makes your stay very comfortable and pleasant. Prices are very reasonable. After mid September there is a sharp price reduction. It is about 10 miles away from Silifke and about 35 miles away from Mersin which is about 10th big and most developed city of Turkey. To arrive at the Hotel first you should go to Istanbul, then fly to Adana and rent a car. It takes about 1hr 45 min. by driving from Adana airport. For long staying it worth. The Hotel was renovated a few years ago.

“A construction site”

The hotel is probably okay when it is fully staffed and when it is not a construction site. It would have been more sensible to close it during this period. It was also Ramadan so there were very few people around. There were probably only 3 rooms occupied and there were very few staff. The foo… more

The hotel is probably okay when it is fully staffed and when it is not a construction site. It would have been more sensible to close it during this period. It was also Ramadan so there were very few people around. There were probably only 3 rooms occupied and there were very few staff. The food was ordinary but we were grateful that they were prepared to feed us something and they were good at trying to provide us with some service during this difficult period. The room was okay and the bed was firm. Even though there were only 3 occupied rooms the people next door were very loud - so the walls must be quite thin or there may have been no isolation in the ceiling as they were working all around us during the time we stayed there.

We went there for a 4 days stay. I must admit that we didn’t have high expectations as no hotel in Mersin area is worth spending the money. Better alternatives are of course, Alanya and Antalya. This year we didn’t want to drive too long that’s why we chose Mersin. The hotel building is old and an odd smell comes from everywhere. The room is small,old but clean. The beach is very very small and weird, but there are sun beds on other side too. There s a big pool, one for small kids and a water slide. Kids are actually very happy there. There are lots of people coming just for one day so after 11 am it gets awfully crowded. The visitors come mostly from the neighboring regions so almost no foreigners. We chose Demi pension so we only had breakfast and dinner. Food’s quality was average and thank God we didn’t stay more . To be honest we travelled around to Cennet/Cehenem cave and Kizkalesi so those were the heights of our short holiday. If we were to stay just at hotel we wouldn’t have stayed more than 2days. Waiters service is poor. Anyway, let me not be this negative. For me personally it was a fiasco but there are probably other travelers who could be fine with a short stay there. Wish the hotel management invested more in this hotel, both logistically and service wise.
