“Superb hotel, lovely staff, great location”

Stayed here in early July 24, 3 adults sharing a premium room. This is a lovely hotel , great location right on a crescent shaped shallow water beach. Stayed here in early July 24, 3 adults sharing a premium room. This is a lovely hotel , great location right on a crescent shaped shallow water beach. There are lots of lovely beach side restaurants next to the hotel and for that reason I would book on a B&B basis. The food in the local restaurants is really cheap and excellent quality, we loved Island View and Spice. The drinks and food at the hotel were pricey compared to the local eateries, and there is loads of choice around. There is a 7 /11 supermarket across the road (mega cheap) that you can get any drinks and snacks from - we got toasties everyday for lunch - about £1 each, mega !!!! The rooms in the hotel are lovely, really cool air-con, large bathroom with decent power shower, good sized room, comfy beds, Iron and Ironing board provided. Fresh complimentary water everyday. Clean beach towels everyday, immaculately clean - absolutely no complaints. The hotel has a gym, which isn't massive but has the basics that you need, it is lovely and cool inside and is kept really clean. Water, face towels and bananas are available free of charge. Breakfast is pretty good, eggs cooked fresh how you like them fried, poached, scrambled etc. Fresh fruit, yoghurts, toast cereal, bacon, beans hash browns etc - you won't go hungry plenty of choice. We booked trips through the hotel, to Pig Island (which includes snorkeling) and the Elephant sanctuary, both were excellent, driver on time and fabulous experiences - highly recommend both. The beach is large clean and safe. Sunbeds are provided by the hotel and these aren't allowed to be reserved - thank god !!! so beds were always available at all times of the day. No 6.00am starts here! The grounds and gardens are kept immaculately clean as are all the public areas. Now lastly the staff - super friendly, kind respectful and professional at all times, they are all a credit to the hotel - especially Bow who looked after us and gave us tips on what to do on the Island, all round fantastic guy, the hotel is lucky to have him - he was really great. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel in Koh Samui - it is a beautiful island with beautiful people, this was one of the best holidays we have ever had and would certainly return to this hotel. It is fantastic.

“A lovely trip”

A wonderful stay in a beautiful location. The beach front bar had amazing staff and food. As we were at the beach we asked for daily change of towels. I recognise what the hotel is trying to do for the environment but new towels were needed every day. The yoga teacher was fabulous. Thank you

We had a good time there. No major issues. No complains. As any other hotell there are prons and cons. Melia is major hotel brand, however, the quality and standard differs from one hotel to another. This hotel is in the range off 4-5 stars. It is promoted as a honey moon hotel, but we saw nothing special in that aspect, it more inclined to be a family hotel. The locations is optimal in relation to the airport and other tourist destinations and attractions. It is easy to reach the other known beaches, 15 minutes by car. A positive thing for us is that the hotel area is not secluded. There are plenty of restaurants at the main streets just outside the hotel entrance and there are two lovely cafes there, one is the Amazon and the other one is a bakery with exquisite types of coffees, bakeries and sallads. Thera are also supermarkets and massage shops. The hotel rooms are excellent, spacious and of a high standard. The staff are very helpful. Housekeeping is excellent. Now we reach an important detail. This hotel is a long one in area from the entrance to the beach. It takes 6 minutes leisure walk from the end of the lobby to the edge of the beach. If you are at the beach and you you discover there that you hade left your pool towels in the room then it will take you 12 minutes leisure walk to get the towels or sun cream or any other needed item left, that is the case if your room is close to the lobby as it was in our case. There are no towels at the beach or pool, so you have to bring the designated pool towels with you from the room. And you may leave them there at the pool. Peculiar policy. The second detail is that if you happen to stay in room at the second floor then you have to go up two steep staircases. No lifts. This is a warning for any person with health related problems. It would be better to request a room at the ground floor in case you have disability. For families there are the boat houses which are practical. The beach is clean, the sea water is crystal clean, you expect to see allot of small fish and small crabs which tells you about the healthy quality of the sea water. There are no rocks at the sea bed at the hotel beach, they must have been removed, but it is not the case once you leave the hotel beach area. Be careful then. You might get hurt by the rocks. There are many restaurants along the beach. The breakfast is ok but not a wow experience, it is more of a 4 star hotel breakfast. The staff there are very friendly and service minded. The gym is nice, it has many equipments but could be overcrowded at daytime. Check the room temperature at the gym and adjust it, because once I was there when someone had sett the temperature at 28 C and there were no towels. There was something strange with what was called the level club which occupies the best part of the hotel by the beach. To access that part to enjoy sitting on the terrace sipping beer or wine then you have to join the level club! pay more, which I think was weird. Why not give access to all hotel guests to be there and pay for their drink! I did not visit the only dinner restaurant at the hotel but I heard from other hotel guests that it is of a high quality. I would recommend this hotel.
