I looked at the B2 brand and thought of it as very basic level so quite uneasy how much it could keep of its promise being a boutique Hotel. Arriving at the Hotel it looked like a country Hotel but reflected the Thai feel very well. I felt warmly welcome and though basic ambiance the attention to detail was warm and welcoming. Loved the friendliness and willingness of staff to help and make my stay comfortable. Rooms had a urban feel but were clean and the options of wellness offered were great at theB2. Would certainly stay again, just make sure you have enough information for the driver how to find it.

There are many cons about this resort, but nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay here a lot. This resort is a bit far from the central Chiang Mai, but with your own bike i's easy to get around. It's close to the University and the buzz and fuss of students and street restaurants and also near the Zoo and mountain Doi Inthanon. The resort is pretty worn and lean, the wi-fi is slow but free and you should not be afraid of the wildlife (ants, mosquitoes, geckos) IN the rooms. The surroundings though, are greenish, charming and peaceful, the staff is really nice, the rooms has a/c and a dvd player available PLUS you get free mosquitoe repellant and an electric racket.

Tucked at the very foot of Doi Suthep, is a little gem of a hotel that is not to be missed. The Ayatana is easily accessible to Old City by frequent Tuk Tuk service, but the neighborhood is quiet, as it is literally among the last blocks of "city" before the bottom slopes of the mountain. You are as likely to be awakened in the morning by the calls of jungle song birds as any noise here. Disregard curmudgeons' reviews below' this place has been solid for years, and remains so today. From the warm lobby to engaging staff to the Lanna-Style interior design of your room, this place is not a cookie-cutter hotel by any means. Wooden floors (ooh! Watch out, they're a little creaky!), wooden four-poster beds with netting both romantic and functional, wooden coffee benches outside your door, Nooen cushions, hand-painted wall murals - all the design touches are both serviceable and interesting. This trip, we changed rooms during our stay and chatted with other guests in several more. All were clean and nice. The breakfast is superb with fresh fruit both chilled and not, juices, varietal teas and coffees, nice meats and other items, and friendly conversation with highly attentive staff. Great massages! Free bottled water each day was nice too. My darling's three-foot-plus cascade of hair benefitted nicely from rain-water rinses available from the rainwater barrel placed for the purpose outside the bathroom window. With showers big enough for two, lots of counter space for your wife's toiletries, Fridge TV etc. this is a practical place from which to base a week-long stay if you want. The pool has been pristine on each of my three stays here, with multiple well-padded highly-comfortable teak chaises around the pool, and no problem getting free towels for the pool if you ask nicely. Check out the hand-made brochures in the lobby too. We found the best price on the Kantoke there and the staff called in our reservations for us. In all, if you are not afraid when your hotel doesn't look American, if you want a little piece of Thailand in your home base, if you value the combination of peaceful quiet and accessibility, and you like a great pool in which to cool off, try this place. We talked to two families who loved it there during our stay too.

I got so worried for my booked when i read all the reviews on web, i almost wanna cancel my booked, but when i arrived in the hotel everything wasn't what i thought. Staffs are so friendly and helpful , big clean nice room and bathroom. The style of northern Thailand, perfect for the price about 1k THB/night *just a bit far from the city but we rent a motorcycle so that's not a problem for us.

The hotel offers pick up/drop off to various day trips and tours which are fantastic in Chiang Mai!! I would happily go back and stay again for such a cheap deal. If you want everything 5 star, check in at the ritz and pay 5 star prices..
