Another fabulous visit in a fantastic hotel! Allocated our favourite room. The new management appear to be doing a great job. The beach remains an issue but you can’t fight nature. Always very peaceful around the pool. Great breakfast with freshly staff

Great hotel in a fantastic location! Sea views, clean rooms, variety at breakfast, lovely village nearby with restaurants and bars, authentic Thai! Very friendly people and good atmosphere. We have been coming here for the last 11 years, can’t fault it!

“Short Stay - Service Excellent - Room Not The Best”

We opted to only stay at The Regent for 2 nights as a stop over between our next destination. The entrance to the Regent is very grand and really nice. Plenty of space to park your car. The reception area is lovely and open planned as you would naturally get in Thailand. We paid extra for a sea view, however was disappointed with the room. We were right at the end of the building in room 2528 on the top floor. Whilst it sounds nice, I was disappointed for a number of reasons. On the plus side, the room is large and the bed very roomy. But the room was dark, the furniture had seen better days and was in dark wood. You could see that this used to be a lovely room when it was first done. there was a sofa in the room that was the size of a single bed, but it was not in the way the room was so big. The plaster work above the bed had been patched up, the shower needed regrouting and had mildew (sorry not the best review). The balcony was massive which was a bonus, but be careful, because of the way that they balconies are made, it you walk out to the end, you are very visible by the neighbours (put it this way, one morning our neighbour quickly went back in to put on his dressing gown). When we turned around to view the room form the balcony, you could see where it was worn and peeling and needed some TLC. Finally we did not have the view that I paid for. Our balcony was surrounded by palm trees and trees adding to the already dark room and as the evenings are very breezy in Cha-Am, all you could hear in the evenings was very very loud rustling of the trees and the waves even though you could not see the sea. But that was the negative side of the hotel for me. On the plus side, there is a mosquito shutters so you could leave the door open instead of having the air condition on non-stop. The room was very spacious. The air condition worked a treat during those very hot nights. Absolutely no complaints about the breakfast and the pool is lovely overlooking the sea. We left our phone charger at home so Reception arranged for us to use one - thank you very much. Unfortunately, during the time of year we were out there (March) the tide is high so the beach is unusable, but we took the shuttle Tuk-Tuk and went next door to the Regent Chalets. This is a much smaller resort with a small pool and if you prefer to swim in the sea like we do, you have direct access to the beach. The water is lovely and warm and shallow. Great to swim in. There is within walking distance (10 mins max) a small village like area/road with restaurants, bars and Thai massage places. So if you don't want to eat in the hotel and don't fancy driving, you will find somewhere here. After we checked out, we found out that there are refurbished rooms in the hotel! Overall having access to the Regent Chalet and the beach made our stay worth it. Had we stayed for longer, I would have asked to change rooms so we could have a brighter room, make more use of the balcony and the sea views.
