I hadn’t been to Bangkok since the early '80s when I visited on a Form 6 school exchange program, so I was quite apprehensive about returning to the city for work this time. The Davis was recommended because our workshop was held at Valia, and I was pleasantly surprised by its close proximity to the venue (not obvious at all from earlier study of the Google Map.) My room was in the Corner Wing, which required a short walk to a separate building. While this meant passing through a passageway of another building under renovation, the staff kindly assisted with my luggage. The Corner Wing lobby is less impressive than the main building, and there was a short wait to check in as I arrived at 1:30 PM, slightly ahead of check-in time. The room was an absolute delight. It was incredibly spacious, with enough room for two king-sized beds and more, and plenty of floor space for my morning yoga sessions. The room was bright, which I appreciated as many hotels tend to use dim lighting. The bed was large and comfortable, offering two nights of comfortable rest and the work desk was functional, though I would have preferred a wooden surface to the glass one provided. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring both a bathtub and a separate shower. However, it could have been brighter, especially in the shower and toilet areas. Adjusting the hot and cold taps for the shower took some trial and error, which was slightly inconvenient when in a hurry. Amenities were standard but sufficient. Would have appreciated body lotion and tea options too. The hotel's location is fantastic. There’s a Lotus nearby for supplies and convenient food options like Ya Kun Kaya Toast and street stalls just around the corner. The attached Starbucks was a handy bonus. The nearest BTS station, Phrom Pong, is a 20-minute walk away and offers access to high-end malls like Emporium and EmQuartier. Emporium even provides a free hourly shuttle service to Valia, while Valia itself offers a shuttle every 15 minutes. Overall, the room was comfortable and spacious. The walls were a bit thin, so noise from other guests could occasionally be heard, but it didn’t disrupt my stay. The reception staff were wonderful and accommodating, even allowing me a late checkout by an hour. Villas are also available at the Davis. In summary, The Davis Bangkok offered a lovely stay with helpful staff and a great location. Perfect for both work and leisure—after all, it’s Bangkok, and you’ll want to shop until you drop! Would definitely return. Value for money.

It lived up to my expectations in every measure. Wanted to stay here for quite some time. My room was a good size, well appointed and a really comfortable bed. The shower was great- excellent pressure. My only disappointment was the front desk- nothing happened quickly and everything seemed to take ages. Nevertheless, I will return.
