“Good family hotel for visiting Bangkok”

Family rooms are very big. Two large outdoor pools with great views across the city. We used the smaller restaurants and bars, the children loved the fresh fruit drinks. Very friendly staff. Family rooms are very big. Two large outdoor pools with great views across the city. We used the smaller restaurants and bars, the children loved the fresh fruit drinks. Very friendly staff. Tuk tuks just outside, 200thb seemed to get us five anywhere we wanted. The canal ferry boats are at the end of the street which we liked riding for 12thb. Great fun had a good time and would stay there again.

“Traditional Hotel at a good price”

I booked this hotel because the price was reasonable for eight nights. I then read the reviews and it gets ‘middling’ grades. I’d imagine that the Ritz in London gets the odd bad review but for its price point the Prince Palace is very reasonable. It’s a traditional, professionally run hotel with grand lobby areas - it does feel a bit old fashioned. It has a lovely pool with a pool bar - I liked the range of food there and it has a good atmosphere. The hotel appears very child-friendly - families appear to have a good time with all the activities. It appears to have two entrances which challenged my driver but ‘Tower A’ is the main part. Check-in is on floor 11 of tower A. There is a grand ground service area that makes the hotel obvious. The hotel is located next to a canal with regular water taxis - it doesn’t appear to be close to a metro or BTR so tuk tuks and the water taxi are the-main transport options. My experience (I’m still here) is good. It is in an interesting location in a high-rise above a wholesale clothing mega-market . I’d bet it was one of the biggest clothing markets in the world. - very thai with families running hundreds of clothing stores. Staff are all uniformed and very attentive. Check-in was efficient and friendly. My room on 23 floor has amazing views of Bangkok’s cityscape. My room was admittedly dated - 80’s/90’s but very clean, has a TV, biggish bathroom with no issues. The room was cleaned every day - lovely staff - very friendly. In my case there were zero issues. In big hotels you navigate by using the lifts - I’d say the lifts here are excellent, very fast and it was easy to move between my quiet high-up landing and the lobby. There is a mosque nearby that does a Fajr call very early in the morning but my earplugs worked well - otherwise my room was quiet. I carry earplugs everywhere ! Compared to Sukhumvit or Yaowarat Roads the area around isn’t that interesting but it does have some lovely small restaurants - I had no issues finding lunch. There are the usual 7/11s for bits and pieces around. I wanted to leave a positive review to encourage people to give it a go - some of the reviews are a bit hysterical - and I think the Prince Palace is good value and has a good range of amenities. I’d like to thank the staff and management - I can see you are doing well and doing a grand job.
