Me and my husband booked the holiday to Thailand through Voyage Prive, it was our belated honeymoon, we got married 2 years ago. It was around £3.5k in total, for both of us, and included 8 nights in 2 other hotels, one in Krabi, one in Khao Lak. I cannot comment on whether it is good value for money, because I don't know the price of the accommodation- Voyage Prive didn't specify. I do know however this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It's such a cool hotel, in such a cool city. For starters our room was lovely, with a super king sized bed, which was extremely comfortable, and I am very picky. There were 2 bottles of complimentary water provided a day, and many free toiletries. Pretty much you don't have to bring anything with you - toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, shower gel, soap etc. The shampoo shower gel and soap are high quality charcoal essence products. There was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee for free, (but no milk, but I presume you could ask for that) and a mini bar and pringles/crisps, which were reasonably priced. The bathroom was very nice with quartz surfaces and a huge walk-in shower with seat, but no bath. Our room on the 11th floor overlooked the streets, for instance the ornate Burger King below, not a bad view but not Instagram material. There is a pool on the 3rd floor, on the roof terrace, which closes at 7pm, but we didn't have time to enjoy that as we were only there 3 nights and there is SO much to see and do in Bangkok. We must have seen about 10 eye poppingly ornate temples, and the National Museum is a must do, and Lumpini park fairly nearby, Bangkok's answer to Central Park- look out for Water Monitor Lizards- an alarming sight like little alligators if you aren't expecting them. I also very highly recommend the public transport: the underground, and the sky train, and the river boat are all really easy to navigate and very cheap and have English signage/ ticket machines in English. Don't use the buses, as there is no Aircon. We walked apart from using the above public transport, and got a tuktuk for 200 baht for a long journey across town at one point. Which is a must do experience - keep your arms inside the vehicle and hold onto your hat! We were half board, and the breakfast buffet at Ruenton Restaurant, which is on the ground floor opposite the lifts, was the best I have ever encountered. It is also a very stylish restaurant. We were entitled to one evening meal also as part of our package, and I chose the famous chicken rice, which was delicious. You do have to pay a deposit upon check in of 5000 baht, which is refunded if no damages to the room, but it does take a few days for the refund. This isn't a complaint, it's just how it is. I have really racked my brains to think of any downsides to this wonderful hotel, and the only slight niggles are: my husband is a light sleeper, and you can faintly hear the lifts when you are the room, saying '11th floooor', which woke him up. I don't know if there is a way to turn the sound off on the lifts. It also took him a while to learn to sleep with Aircon on, as he is used to silence. I wouldn't say the Aircon is particularly noisy though. He should wear earplugs. Also on the first morning room service knocked on the door at 8.30am and woke us up. In hindsight, we were thankful for this, and we didn't put the do not disturb sign on, so it's our fault, but I recommend only knocking on doors from 10am, if at all possible. This is the first hotel that has ever woke me up. Also, while I would say this hotel is very suitable for children, certain streets around the neighborhood would be best avoided after dark with small children, as it is a red light district. The street with the Patpong night market is not too bad, the market is busy and vibrant, full off knock-off products and delicious food, but there is a strip club on it, with scantily clad ladies emerging quite frequently. But this occurs after children's bedtime anyway, so not a big issue. Also, I think to elevate the Montien to the next level, some fragrance might be used to make the place smell wonderful. It doesn't smell bad. I have just noticed that other renowned 5 star hotels I have experienced throughout the world smell great.

I’m the centre and close to everything, only a 10 minute Tuk Tuk to shopping centres and incredible eatery’s. Night markets every night with food and cheap shopping right out the front of the hotel.

“So much much passion”

Tik at the front door - if only I had that much enthusiasm at my own place of work !! All staff were so helpful and accommodating and you felt special. Staff had good English skills and nothing was a problem. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.
