The Marriott Hotel was the perfect place to relax after a long flight. Friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms, and excellent amenities made my stay comfortable. Great location, delicious food, and a peaceful atmosphere ensured I recharged fully. Highly recommend!

“Go for cocktails on the roof bar but book another Marriott.”

I am a frequent visitor to Bangkok and took a liking to Marriott's hotels since a wonderfull stay at the Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa, and then at the Hua Hin Marriott Resort and spa, both in 2021, oh wow. Since then, I have been sampling Marriott's hotels in Bangkok and Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit comes out as average. The room was perfect with ample space, a real working desk and a walk in. A big 10 goes to housekeeping : we were always out late and always returned to a perfect room. Very comfy bed, high quality linen for a perfect sleep. The pool is the right size with a good combination of sun and shade, juuuuuust enough chaises though. This is where it stops. Even though I am a BonVoy member, I felt no special treatment. I booked a higher floor room for 5 nights and was given a room with no special view. Waste of $. Doormen and bell boys were somewhere around there, they missed my chauffeured Rolls(!). Check in was quick and courteous though. The roof top operations are not up to snuff. On our first visit, we were told to make a reservation for the roof bar. Thank you for not mentionning that in those many welcome e-mails. The music was too loud on the Wednesday we arrived, so we moved down to the lower deck and were given a lousy spot. Thank you BonVoy members. So I booked ahead for Sunday night but our reservation was mixed up and we could not get the spot we wanted, both on the roof bar and the Octave restaurant on the 45th. Service was no better. Nobody welcomed anyone on the roof bar. Orders were forgotten and I had to walk to the bar for a wine refill. So then, disinterested service throughout and very average quality certainly does not warrant the high prices. Mixed feelings about the location : there is nothing to see around ThongLor but it is a fancy area with good restaurants and so, we ate out all the time (but fot that dinner at Octave). Sukhumvit is just business. There is a very covenient BTS station 350m away but it is far from everything, more than 1hr to the Grand Palace and Wat Saket (Golden Mountain), almost and hour to Patpong and Silom, an hour to Chatuchak weekend market, 30 min to Siam Paragon and Central World shopping malls, you get the picture. But the view is fabulous from the top. You do not need to be a hotel customer to enjoy, and you might just get better seating than we did. So then, book another Marriott. So far, our favorite is still the Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse.
