“Lovely staff in a perfect Swiss small hotel ”

This adorable little hotel just melted my heart. Zermatt is a sweet little town. Hotel is higher up mountain, so peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was so nice, fresh and delicious. Immaculately clean, comfy bed.

They gave us early checkin which we dint expect this was just the beginning of their hospitality ,even without telling for room cleaning they had done their job by making the room. “Hidden gem at an affordable price!”

Hotel Adonis was a dream come true! Our party of five enjoyed the spacious rooms with private baths, each with its own balcony. Hotel Adonis was a dream come true! Our party of five enjoyed the spacious rooms with private baths, each with its own balcony. There is a desk, tv, and very, very warm down comforters on twin beds that are put together. Oddly enough, like the hotel we stayed in Zurich, Adonis did not have wash cloths...so bring your own. Maybe people use poufs in Switzerland? I don't know, but I had to find one in town. Isabelle was a kind and gracious manager, as well as Rita, who worked in the evening. The first floor has a cozy bar and sitting area we frequented each night and played cards. The breakfast room is exceptional, so select the option to include it in your stay. The chef has an array of sausage, eggs, cheeses, cereals, fruits, breads, juices, coffee and cocoa. It is certainly worth the extra charge, as we didn't need to eat again until dinner. There is also a dry sauna downstairs, and for a little fee, you can steam yourself after a long day in the snow. If we ever go back to Zermatt, we will stay at the Adonis!

We found the hotel to fit our needs. It was quiet, located off the central Zermatt area. This meant that to get to and from the shops you needed to walk for 10-15 minutes (not bad, but still tiring after a day on the slopes). We found the hotel to fit our needs. It was quiet, located off the central Zermatt area. This meant that to get to and from the shops you needed to walk for 10-15 minutes (not bad, but still tiring after a day on the slopes). As other reviews noted, it is closer to the Matterhorn Paradise Express Gondola station than to the Sunnegga Bottom Station. Would have wished the hotel offers transfer from the train station at no charge (rather than charging per person), especially due to to their still high prices. The room was spartan with no kettle, cups or glasses. You could pick them from a table on the first floor, but could not understand why they would not simply be placed in the room. Also, no coffee or tea packets. The room was very clean though and the beds soft and comfortable. We appreciated the high quality sheets, blankets, and pillows. Surprisingly, you cannot take a shower at night (at least that was what was written in the room). The curtains were great, blocking all light. Our room had a balcony with a view of the mountains and through some trees could even see even the tip of the Matterhorn!
