We were a group of 11 ladies of a certain age and had booked single rooms for one night. The reception is manned by a young team who were very helpful and spoke good English. Most of our rooms were very spacious with modern bathrooms. Despite the central location just across from the train station, the rooms were quiet. Lovely Molton Brown bath products and a Nespresso coffee machine in the rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its location and service.

“Gone downhill”

This hotel has definitely gone downhill since I visited a year ago. Apart from the leaflet pinned to the back of the room door explaining what to do if there was a fire there was absolutely no information in the room, i.e. check out times, times the restaurant was open, TV channels etc. I twice... more

This hotel has definitely gone downhill since I visited a year ago. Apart from the leaflet pinned to the back of the room door explaining what to do if there was a fire there was absolutely no information in the room, i.e. check out times, times the restaurant was open, TV channels etc. I twice told reception about lack of information in the room but in the 7 days I was there nothing was done. The staff in the restaurant didn't know I was half board, had to tell them most nights, service extremely slow some evenings. Housekeeping ok although the waste bin not emptied 2 days out of 7 and there was a pile of magazines left in the hallway for 4 days. Have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past but this may well have been the last time, will be considering other hotels next time.

We had reservations at another location but they had the wrong date and were full so my family had to split up into different locations, 4 of us ended up here. It was very expensive, no fridge in room, no ac, no free breakfast, bare bones room. But we had to take what we could get. It was easy walk to train station and old Town area.

On the start of our Switzerland experience we were booked into this appealing looking Hotel within easy walking distance of the Main railway station and the old town attractions. Unfortunately we suffered at night because of the proximity to certain bars that stay open all hours, and because we had to leave out windows open to try to get some coolness into the room, the partying was even louder. We thought we had some air conditioning but it turned out to be only air recirculation of some sort. Due to the heat we experienced we didn’t need the doona either and as there was no other bedding provided we had to keep stripping the cover off the doona each day as that was all we needed to be able to sleep a bit more comfortably once the outside racket died down after 2pm on the 3 nights we stayed there. The breakfasts were very good and the room was very clean and spacious enough but if you have trouble sleeping maybe find somewhere a little further removed from that part of the city.
