My 4 star rating of the Hilton Stockholm Slussen is somewhat of an exaggeration due to the significant noise that we experienced during our visit from 30 June to 6 July 2024. Although our room afforded an excellent view of Stockholm the room was very noisy, even at night, as work was being conducted on the railroad tracks. Yes, the noise diminished when the windows were closed; however, as we like fresh air at night, the open windows and closed curtains did little to reduce the noise - jackhammers, diamond saws cutting concrete, heavy pipes dropping. We complained, of course, and to the credit of the hotel staff, we were offered alternative rooms that did not afford the view. Consequently, the staff reduced our rate by a minor amount, which we accepted. The noise seriously impacted our sleep and prevented my wife from going on a tour. On the positive side, the room was very clean and the breakfasts were exceptional. Also I would be remiss if I did not thank Ms. Vivian and S. Alexandra N, Front Office Manager, for their professionalism in attempt to address our noise complaints. Hilton is very fortunate to have these women as employees. Suggest Hilton should warn prospective clients of the noise conditions at the hotel and advise them to book rooms in sections that may offer less of a view but peace and quiet. Thanks very much! My check in experience was nice because the staff at the front desk are very friendly at this hotel. However, there seems to be little diamond member recognition. My check in experience was nice because the staff at the front desk are very friendly at this hotel. However, there seems to be little diamond member recognition. (nothing in the room, modest room upgrade, staff did not learn my name, etc.) Perhaps the 2 main highlights are the reasonable price point (especially given the very high costs in Sweden) and the good location in the trendy Sodermalm district of Stockholm. There are a few issues with the hotel, however, The rooms are small and need to be refreshed. The executive lounge could use some improvement. It is small and understaffed and depending on the day, not all of the staff are uniformly friendly. The food and drink options during happy hour are very limited and the quality is average. More variety and more hot and cold dishes would be greatly appreciated. I also feel that the diamond member recognition could be enhanced. It's a nice hotel overall and appears popular, likely because of the price and location. I'm not sure I would return, however.
