A lovely stay at the Hotel J, Nacka Strand, Stockholm. A hotel I used to stay at but not for a while. It has been through a renovation and rooms much refreshed from before. It is a bit further afield from the centre and more where the locals live. So won’t necessarily suit business or short term tourists. Its charm is its waterfront location and great views. The hotel restaurant is nearby and on a pontoon in the marina with lovely views and sunsets. Good food and service. Breakfast is served in the impressive, old main house. I was given a lovely room on the top floor with a huge veranda balcony, with great views and sunsets. One other charming factor is that you can catch the water service to/from the hotel. Which is a great way to arrive/depart. This is very scenic and takes you right into the centre. It was a welcome return and hope to return again

The rooms are very clean with a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea. There is a fresh wood smell from the pine floors and oak furniture. There is both a ferry and a bus stop within a 5-minute walk from the front door. Their breakfast is my favorite hotel breakfast out of all the places I’ve been in the world. There are multiple options for fresh breads, yogurts, breakfast meats, eggs cooked multiple ways, a medley of juices, and fresh coffee. The staff member named Adis was very kind and knowledgeable, and she represented both the hotel and the Swedish people well. The price was fair as well. Nacka Strand’s neighborhood is quiet compared to the middle of Stockholm, and there is a large grocery store named ICA Maxi a 20-minute walk away. There is also a shopping mall named Nacka Forum a 20-minute walk away. I would say it takes 20 minutes or less via public transportation to the middle of Stockholm. Hotel J is the best place to stay near the Stockholm area for most.

“Nice hotel on the water”

Booked at very late notice. Acceptable rooms. Clean. Pleasant receptionist. Lovely location. OK breakfast but not great - a welcome would have been nice rather than just a barked "Room number". All in all pretty good. Reasonably priced too.

With only 20 minutes by boat from central Stockholm, this place is beautifully located by the sea. The rooms are newly renovated and very, very nice! 4 TripAdvisor stars! However, the food was not so good (veal cutlet with sweetened red cabbage and Greek salad??), 2 TripAdvisor stars. So we end up at a total of 3 TripAdvisor stars.
