“Good value for money”

We had a double room & a twin room, both of which were clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was very good - a selection of hot & cold. Other positives were the excellent air conditioning & very friendly staff. It’s not a luxury hotel but very good value for money.

I'll start with the HUGE negative. We were travelling for my wife's 50th birthday so we paid extra to stay in a room with a terrace and what we actually got was a tiny, badly and cheaply decorated room in the attic with paper thin walls and a 2mx2m outside area partitioned with chicken wire and fake grass and no view at all except a patch of night sky. The young couple in the next room were so noisy that that we demanded another room at 1.30am. The walls were so thin that it honestly sounded like they were "doing it" on OUR bed! They'd clearly learned their technique from "the movies" cause her clichéd affirmative screams were hilarious... for a while. A word to the wise boys: if she has to make so much noise assuring you that you're doing it right, you're probably not! Imagine our surprise/bemusement, then, when we were moved to a "cheaper" room on a lower floor which was twice the size, much more salubriously decorated and actually had a proper balcony. On the plus side, we were refunded a full day's parking (the princely sum of €16), for our inconvenience. Two days later, as we passed reception, another dissenting guest was complaining that "that is NOT a terrace". Honestly, I doubt that any guest would be satisfied with their stay in one of those "premium" rooms, with the exception of corny "porn couple", obviously. On the plus side, our three nights in the much better "cheaper" room was far more pleasant, with actual walls and no noise from adjoining rooms. Location was in a quieter side of the city, just over a kilometer away from the start of the city centre: a pleasant enough walk. Breakfast could best be described as just about adequate if you don't mind cold hot food (which is limited to just three items, daily) and you have 15 minutes to spare (of your allotted 45 minutes breakfast slot) to toast your bread using the toaster Noah threw out when he finally reached dry land.
