We stayed for 2 nights in June & generally enjoyed our stay, as the staff were friendly & helpful & the hotel was clean & well maintained. I had asked & paid extra for a room with a city view, however the first room only had a partial city view & when I complained, was advised that another room was not available, however there would be the next day. So the next day we moved, for one night. We paid extra for breakfast on the first day, but it was fairly basic & therefore didn't bother on the next day. Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant only seemed to be open on weekends & the few other restaurants in the area seemed to be shut in the week too. There is a bus, once an hour, into the city, about a ten minute downhill walk away, otherwise it's a €10 taxi into the city. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

“Great views but just OK hotel”

The hotel reminds me of what you stay in when on a tour traveling around Europe. It’s clean and has a pool but the rooms are “ok”. No coffee or water heater in rooms. Simply a bed and tv. The hotel reminds me of what you stay in when on a tour traveling around Europe. It’s clean and has a pool but the rooms are “ok”. No coffee or water heater in rooms. Simply a bed and tv. There is a mini fridge but doesn’t work unless you are in your room, which is a design flaw. Rooms and hotel are Very basic. The views are wonderful and made the stay bearable but if it weren’t for that we would have gone elsewhere. Ok for a night, maybe two, but that’s it.

We had booked two nights at the hotel but really considered checking out after the first nigh as a car is required to visit the city and the restaurant was closed. I showed the receptionist their web page and it said that the restaurant was open. A few hours later we were told that a meal would be coked for us and could we choose what we wanted. It appeared that one chef was ill and the other chef came in and cooked just for us, this was a piece of great customer service which we appreciated. I believe that due to covid the hotel was not getting many guests and therefore revenue was down, this also showed in the garden not been kept tidy, although the pool was in good repair. The room required a little tender loving but had a fridge and AC but no safe. The public areas in the hotel were clean and tidy. The panoramic view of the city was spectacular. I feel for the hotel owners as with reduced revenue they did not have enough money to spend on the outside areas, but I think that as the number of guest increase the hotel will shine once again.

The hotel has a beautiful view and is well maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean. The cleaning staff were lovely. However, there was a lot of noise after the bar closed (possibly staff cleaning) and in the morning during breakfast. I could hear cutlery and plates being moved from about 8.30am even wearing earplugs! Maybe this is because I was given one of the rooms on the 1st floor? But still it was impossible to sleep in. The pool doesn't open until 12 (check out time) so don't count on an early morning swim before you leave. Saying that, the pool is very clean and the lifeguard is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fine but the first night the 2 dishes I had ordered were incorrect.
