Fantastic location near the entrance of the old town centre. The hotel itself is like a small museum but the services are really bad. We came back to the hotel after making an inspection tour of Toledo and wanted to go back to our room. We were requested not to go to the room because some workers were changing the doorknob and we were told to go and drink something until the job was finished! We had to pay some consumptions while some strange persons were inside of our room! We informed the owner of my garlic allergy and was told that there wouldn’t be any problems with that. The cook would prepare something special for us… until we arrived at the restaurant. We could choose between an entrecote or a salad, and that was that. On the second day we came in the room when I saw that we didn’t receive two fresh bottles of drinking water, so I went to the reception to inform about this subject. The answer was that we only receive two small bottles of drinking water on the day of arrival. This was something new to me after all the travels that I’ve made all over the World. The girl at the reception was unfriendly and had a free bottle of water posted at her workstation! The breakfast is poor and there’s no possibility to get a cup of coffee before 08:00 AM. I wanted to take a cup of coffee to my room after breakfast but was stopped by the waiter on my way out.

The entrance to the hotel has a permanent water leak at the stairs to reception. We and our friends were booked into 2 of the furthest rooms from reception having to take 2 lifts every time. The entrance to the hotel has a permanent water leak at the stairs to reception. We and our friends were booked into 2 of the furthest rooms from reception having to take 2 lifts every time. Whilst our room was ok the facilities in the room was below par. No soap and very little shower gel and shampoo. With the exception of the reception staff, all the catering staff in the breakfast area and the bistro were basically untrained and very rude and unhelpful. We came down to breakfast one morning and there was no bread for toast. I asked one of the waiters and he just ignored my request. Another waiter just confirmed that there were only small rolls, and definitely no wholemeal or white bread available I have never seen such a poor quality breakfast. The area was poorly laid out with plates only under the crowded toaster area, which were almost invisible when searching for them. Drinking glasses were on the opposite side of the room from where the breakfast juices were located! Probably not good enough for even a two stat hotel. Definitely not expected in a four star hotel.
