We have stayed here over the last 20 years and this hotel is a perfect oasis if you are spending time in Seville tranquil gardens and beautiful pool. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and addition of live cooking station is a bonus. This Hotel is all about the staff they all work well as a huge family and it is infectious the teams at Reverso Restaurant, Pool and Cocktail Bars make you feel so welcome and friendly even when they are sometimes extremely busy. Rooms are spacious and clean with all amenities. I strongly recommend this hotel we again will be returning Thank you Jacqui/John Room 3221

“Great value in Sevilla!”

We were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. It was clean, parking was easy, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. It was a great value for Sevilla. We parked our car at the hotel and took a taxi to the main sights in town. The hotel is also along a major bus route. The hotel was fully booked the night we stayed and therefore we received a free upgraded room!

“Lovely stay, recommended.”

The hotel itself is great, good sized pool with a bar which opened at the end of May. Breakfast room and restaurant, cocktail bar was good too. Not overly expensive for a 4* hotel -food and drinks are good. Everything is fresher cooked to order and we had breakfast and lunch several times. Friendly, efficient staff. Rooms are a very nice size. My only quibble is the door card is sensitive to being close to a mobile phone - this necessitated 5 visits to reception to get the card reset - extremely irritating after you’ve gone up to your room only to have to trek back to reception to get the card reset! I’ve never had this problem before, anywhere. Overall the hotel, staff, food and location is great. Probably more of a business aimed hotel but if, as a tourist you are at the Silken, taxis can be found at the front fairly regularly, although we found Uber cheaper and quicker. We paid about €7 into the city centre which is considerably less than the U.K. equivalent for the distance.

Our 3rd time at this hotel and the most disappointing. As return guests we have experienced the odd problem in previous years such as ants and being declined access to the pool on our final day but it never caused us too many problems. This year felt very different - unsafe and not as important as business/private event guests. Firstly the pros: lovely air conditioned entrance and room, reception staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts are tasty and fresh although a very busy restaurant - the staff work very hard to keep tables clean and ready. The rooms are cleaned and serviced every day, the air conditioning in the room is great and the beds are comfortable. Hotel bike hire is a bit pricey but very convenient - the bikes are comfortable and the staff at the tourist desk in the hotel are very helpful when organising it. Location is great for those who don’t mind a cycle or walk and is only €8 in a taxi to the centre of Seville. There is a supermarket approx 10 min walk away that is used mainly by locals but sells everything you could need. Negatives: this year I upgraded to a room with a terrace. This included breakfast. Approx 2 hours after arriving my room was ready (I did arrive early so this is not an issue at all) and I was allocated a room on the ground floor - room 1039. My first impressions were that the room was very spacious compared to rooms without a terrace/outside space but when I went to access the terrace I was very disappointed. There is a HUGE step up out to the terrace, it would not be possible for anyone with mobility issues or young children. The terrace was old and worn - surrounded by what looked like a water collection/irrigation system that is a horrible eye sore and incredibly noisy. The plastic furniture is too hot to sit on and very uncomfortable. I ended up using the terrace to dry clothes on. On very busy days you are stopped from entering the pool area until you confirm your room number etc. on two occasions my family and I were stopped from e entering the pool area with food we had bought at the supermarket. The pool bar food is very expensive and so we found it more affordable and tastier to buy at the supermarket. We were forced to return to our rooms to eat our food! Not great considering a previous year we experienced a major problem with ants in the room and had to move rooms - we were told this problem was caused by people eating in their rooms! Pool towels are not included and require a €10 refundable deposit. The hotel gym is AWFUL, it’s very hot, there are very limited items and on one day it was closed for the full day. On my 6th day in the hotel there was a wedding. This is not uncommon and we have experienced this in previous years. The problem this year was that at 1.10am I can only describe the noise that came from a DJ as being like I was in the event myself! The conference centre/event room was directly below my bedroom. I called reception to ask if there was anything that could be done - the first member of staff that I spoke to advised me they would contact security to close doors etc. after 30 minutes the noise was no better so I called back and spoke to a male receptionist - he advised me that he could not do anything as the event was on until 5am! He said he would see what he could do to help and would call me back. 10 minutes later my bedroom door was knocked - at approx 1.50am! There is no viewing hole so as a lone female I felt unsafe! I opened my door slightly to be met with the receptionist and a security guard! I explained I was very uncomfortable with them coming to my room unannounced in the middle of the night, two males to speak with me! The security guard left. The receptionist told me I was the only one who had complained about the noise. The receptionist agreed the noise was bad, and offered me to spend the night in a suite - he said I could leave my belongings in the room and attend reception for the key. I agreed to this, and attended reception shortly after and was given a key to a suite on the 6th floor. Upon entering the suite (at 2am!) I discovered it was already occupied - I immediately left as that was a very unsafe situation to be in. I returned to reception and explained what had happened, and was given a key to a different suite. I then was able to get into bed at 2.15am. I left the room at 8am as I had no belongings other than my phone with me. On Sunday morning I asked to speak to a manager, he apologised for the situation and said he would speak to the hotel manager about what could be done. He offered me the suite for my final night but I declined as I was leaving early the next morning and did not want to have to pack and move for less than 24hrs. At 10.40am I received a call offering me a complimentary meal in the buffet restaurant that evening. After spending the day out of the hotel I returned to my room at approx 5pm to find an apology note and some complimentary snacks. I did have a meal in the buffet restaurant that was tasty. Overall this hotel is good for tourists who maybe don’t want to spend long in their room or the hotel pool area. The location is ideal if you are happy to walk/cycle for hours, the cycle routes are great and there are always taxis outside. The hotel is definitely suited more for business/private events.
