I guess this sort of character hotel will attract differing reviews but if you like historic buildings then you will probably like it. Our standard room had a massive, very comfortable wooden bed, with a tiled (out of use!) fireplace and old wooden doors. It was a little dark but this is to be expected with smaller windows and to counteract this the room was painted white. The bathroom was perfectly fine, with a bath with shower over and plenty of hot water. We weren't planning to eat here but the dining room is gorgeous -huge with a beamed ceiling, tapestries and traditional lighting-and so we booked for dinner. The food is really very very good-and we like our food! Their sangria is the best I've tried, if you like sangria. The room where breakfast is served is also pretty and the selection is as good as a parador. In fact, this hotel is very much like a parador but more authentic-if you prefer the character air-brushed out of a hotel then this probably isn't for you. The swimming pool is huge-maybe 50m long-and there are three different courtyards in which to sit-there is an honesty bar in one of them. The receptionist has good English and was really helpful. Spanish would be an advantage at dinner but the staff are welcoming even to those of us who didn't learn the Spanish we promised ourselves we would.

What is not to like … it’s a converted Monastery turned into a hotel that feels like a private residence! Me and my Partner (LGBTQ) were welcomed and had a great time! The restaurant is the best place to eat in the town (we tried a few options) and the included breakfast was just right .. with fresh cooked omelette offered on some days. We spent most of the days reading in some little nook (there are lots of options) and then swimming and sun bathing. The rooms are fantastic - we had the superior room, and it was spacious and clean. We were located right on the court yard served by the restaurant which meant a few nights we had dinner and the court to ourselves! WOW! This is the perfect hotel to switch off, connect, and take some time for yourself! We will be back!

Would stay here again if in the area.

“Beautiful, interesting and elegant”
Beautiful hotel. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Main eating and greeting area is elegant and beautifully restored. It is a very nice garden, pool at the hotel itself is surrounded by fruit trees. It is a quick walk or bike ride to the historic downtown and Cathedral.

Stayed here as part of a tour group recently. I’ve never stated in a place like this so was a little apprehensive but was pleasantly surprised. The place had some really good facilities including a pool and air conditioned rooms. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was spacious with everything you need. A few negatives, the staff didn’t have much English but that’s what you get when you go off the beaten track. The Breakfast left a lot to be desired also, really wasn’t great. I found the place really hard to find my way around, there were no signs and when you can’t communicate with the staff it made life difficult Do beware as well this place is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties , there are steps everywhere. Overall a nice place depending what your after but not for me
