This hotel pleasantly surprised me. After reading a lot of the negative reviews I was prepared to be disappointed, but I loved both my stays here over an extended period spent in Manhattan staying in various Hilton hotel brands and locations. The location is really amazing, and Central Park is very close by. In fact, I had great high floor views of Central Park from the premier corner rooms I had booked both stays. The rooms were spacious, and the décor was nice and well maintained. The rooms were very comfortable. I found all the staff to be great, friendly and helpful. As a Diamond guest I was able to check-in early both stays. The executive lounge was a nice space and had coffee and refreshments, and some simple food options at various times (executive lounge offerings in the U.S. are a lot simpler than those in Asia or internationally). The Herb ‘n’ Kitchen was very convenient, and there are a lot of different options there to have a simpler breakfast or meal and to use your HHonors F & B credit or the resort fee credit. The staff in the Bridges Bar are fantastic and I really enjoyed their service and expertise. I didn’t have any issues with the credits being applied correctly either. The lift system worked well and I didn’t have long waits for a lift. In fact, despite being a very large hotel everything felt very seamless and easy. The Avenue of Americas is very exciting and the Rockefeller Center , Midtown, and Fifth Avenue are so close and in the immediate vicinity. I will definitely stay here again next time I’m in NYC. The hotel was really enjoyable and I loved my room, all the staff, and the exciting location in the middle of the Midtown action. I also liked the different dining and bar options, including the executive lounge, Bridges Bar, and the Herb ‘n’ Kitchen store which provided a lot of different food and beverage options and styles.

“My New York Address”

One would think that staying at the largest convention hotel in Manhattan would be impersonal, you’d be lost in the crowd as one traveling alone. That person never stayed at the Hilton New York Midtown. Even though I only stay there once or twice a year, I was greeted with “Welcome back!” by several of the employees. To me, that’s the greatest comment they can utter — it demonstrates that they not only know you are there, but they appreciate your past patronage. This undoubtedly reflects on the leadership of the hotel, training, and the fact that so many of their associates gave worked there for decades. Management must be doing something right to retain so many fine people for so long. I found the staff on arrival — doormen and front desk — to be gracious and welcoming. The housekeeping is always impeccable. And it’s nice to crack open the window at night for some fresh air and sounds of the city while sleeping. I love that I can take a very short walk to St. Patrick’s Cathedral for Mass, and another short walk afterwards to brunch at Bergdorf Goodman, where I also shopped. And my favorite restaurant for dinner — Gallagher’s — is another short walk. The convenient location of the hotel is a huge plus. Hilton New York Midtown in my Manhattan address for these reasons and many more.

The hotel has excellent location, the room was very clean, the cleaning staff, very friendly and efficient. The main restaurant was closed, the lobby bar was very good, the most of the waiters were nice, just one that kept telling people that the bar was closed even before 11pm, when the official closing time is 11:30pm. The food is average. Besides the Lobby bar, the hotel is excellent!
