“Great city break hotel”

We went on a city break and stayed at this hotel. Our party comprised my husband, adult son and me. We had 2 premier interconnected rooms. The rooms were spacious and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. There was a minibar, iron, ironing board and small table and chairs . Lovely bathroom with shower. Good air conditioning and USB charging ports for phones. I used the mini gym twice- a nice advantage. The hotel is 20minute walk to the main city centre and 25 to the beach-if walking to the beach - check and take direct route. There is a great shopping centre accessed from the 1 st floor of the hotel. It has good shops, a really well stocked supermarket and a cafe xpress that did good well priced food. We were very pleased with the hotel.

“Much better after refurbishment”

This was our second time at this hotel, the last time being in 2019 before the refurbishment. We noticed a huge improvement in the quality of the rooms following the refurbishment, and the rooms now have a genuine 4* feel to them. There are plenty of power sockets all over the room, and the safe is large enough for a 16" laptop. The bathrooms have been refurbished with showers replacing the baths, and although the shower follows the latest Spanish trend of no lip on the shower tray, the shower screen extends far enough that no water spills on to the bathroom floor. It's the first time I've seen this new Spanish shower design installed well. The included minibar was a welcome improvement, and we were recognised as gold members of Meliá Rewards with some welcome gifts. Breakfast was of the same high standard that it was five years ago, although I would expect to find tomato juice in a 4* hotel. Although not in the old town, the hotel's location is very convenient for shopping (two shopping centres nearby and El Corte Inglés) and for the train station (including trains to and from the airport). The old town is around 20 minutes' walk away, but e-scooters are available in nearby designated bays for a faster journey along dedicated cycle paths. When walking to the hotel from María Zambrano train station (500 metres away), go into the Larios shopping centre (using the ramps on each side if you have baggage), and then immediately take the lift on the left to the top floor of the car park. Walk in a straight line through the open-air car park, and you will eventually find a small back entrance to the hotel. At night, you might need to ring the buzzer to gain entry. This route saves a lot of time and walking. We booked a standard room on a flexible rate, but a few days before our arrival we noticed that the prices had fallen. The price for a junior suite had become very competitive, with a price around 37% more for more a room that was shown as more than double the size. So we cancelled our standard room and rebooked the junior suite. Unfortunately when we arrived, it seemed that during the refurbishment, the hotel had discontinued the two-room suites with two bathrooms and was providing only one-room rooms, still marketed as junior suites with a floor area double the size. When I complained, the hotel staff dealt with the matter perfectly and quickly refunded the extra I had paid for the junior suite. All credit to the hotel management for resolving this error without any fuss. Soon afterwards, the size of the "junior suite" was corrected on the web site, although it still misleadingly uses the word "suite" to describe accommodation that has only one room (plus bathroom). In fact, the hotel now has no suites, just larger rooms that are marketed as suites.

Good location as its integrated with the mall, access to public transport is also available. Good location as its integrated with the mall, access to public transport is also available. The mattress is as solid as a rock if you want back ache this mattress will give you just that. 4 night stay and no full linen change if any which is disappointing. There was dust under the bed when we arrived and on the ledge near the back of the bed rooms are no checked it seems. The kettle lead is too short to put on the table area therefore you have it on an unstable ledge whilst plugged in, lifts are slow too.
