This is one of the finest, most luxurious hotels in the heart of Madrid. It is walking distance to a multitude of the city’s main tourist destinations. I highly recommend staying here if want to easily see the cities highlights. God’s gift to us!

Nearby to Atocha Train Station for day-trips to Toledo, Segovia, Avila etc. 20-min walks to major museums (Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, Reina Sofia). “Good location but expensive”

We booked a superior room which cost nearly 600 euros for two nights, room only. The room was quite small for that money. We booked a superior room which cost nearly 600 euros for two nights, room only. The room was quite small for that money. There is not much in the minibar but best to avoid it because the water is 4 euros a bottle! Our room overlooked Paseo de Atocha and the double glazing was good but it could not keep out the noise of sirens. One thing we thought was odd about the room, and I have never reviewed a hotel room with these comments before, is that everything was very noisy. Wardrobe doors banged, and sliding doors in the shower and wardroom rumbled. You had to close things very quietly. Also, when you toke your room key out of the slot, the lights go off immediately and you are left in the dark. These are relatively minor things, and the hotel has a great location for the museums.

I recently stayed at your hotel with a group of 8, booking 4 rooms for 2 nights. While the hotel had some positive aspects, the overall experience was overshadowed by disappointing service. The Positives: The hotel rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-maintained. Everything was clean and in perfect condition. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options that we all enjoyed. Great location too. The Negatives: The service, however, did not match the standards expected from a five-star hotel. While some staff members were pleasant, others left a lot to be desired. Check-in was not smooth, as the staff seemed unclear with their instructions, which caused unnecessary confusion. During check-out, while one staff member was friendly and smiley, another (possibly named Fernando or Leonardo) left us with a very negative impression. As there were 8 (4 rooms) of us, we had quite a number of bags to store after check-out. When I informed him that we needed to store our luggage, he looked at our bags, sighed audibly, and walked into the baggage storage room without answering me or saying anything. It was dismissive and unprofessional. Thankfully, another staff member noticed the situation and took over, providing excellent service. This inconsistency in service made the experience fall far short of what I expect from a five-star hotel. It was a stark contrast to the warm and professional experiences I’ve had with Marriott properties. Unfortunately, this has left me reluctant to return to NH Nacional in the future.
