“Great stay- lovely hotel!”

Very nice hotel - lovely and spacious room with great breakfast buffet. Also visit the Cafe for dinner! Great location - walkable to many sites and the metro! Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful with getting a taxi to the airport the morning we left.

We arrived very late , (11pm) tired and hungry. The reception staff arranged a table for us in the restaurent, which was excellent. We arrived very late , (11pm) tired and hungry. The reception staff arranged a table for us in the restaurent, which was excellent. We weren’t happy with the first room and the receptionists were very quick to help and move us to a better one the next morning. Very clean and comfortable hotel, very good and varied breakfast. The restaurant , Cafe Varela, was really good, so much so we ate there the second night too. Loved the bar, met some very interesting people there. Full of local people and a great atmosphere. We would certainly stay there again on our next visit to Madrid.

Hotel Preciados is an elegant, high quality hotel in a good area of Madrid, convenient to many of the major sights, metro, and dining. Although it has an old-world feel, the pubic spaces and rooms are very modern and stylish with quality finishes. Our room was spacious and clean, with quality linens. The front desk staff and servers in the adjoining restaurant were friendly and efficient. In fact, one of the pluses is the wonderful breakfast buffet with plenty of selections. Our room was on the fourth floor overlooking the busy Calle Preciados, which is mainly a pedestrian street. What that means is that it's noisy at night (and into the wee small hours) with diners and revelers. We had to wear ear plugs to get a decent night's sleep. I would suggest you ask for a room on the other sides of the hotel. Secondly, our bath room had a wall of glass which provided no privacy, even for the toilet. This may be stylish and trendy for some people, but it was jarring to us. It did appear that other rooms have more conventional bathrooms, so you could ask for one as part of your reservation request.

The hotel is already quite old, although they have tried to renovate it, they have not been completely successful. The room is very small, the bathroom is not very clean, it is quite old and the marble floor is stained. Breakfast is average although it has a variety of dishes. They have a very convenient and good quality coffee making machine. The location is unbeatable. The hotel is like an icon in Spain, but I think there are better hotels for the price paid.
