I enjoyed my stay at this Meliá hotel. The hotel is nicely updated, everything inside looks good, and it was ideally clean. The hotel’s lobby is beautifully designed. My check-in process was smooth, and the hotel staff was sweet to me. Before arrival, I requested a room on a high floor with a nice city view, and these requests were noted by the front desk staff. I ended up with a great room on the top floor, #1116. The biggest plus of this room was definitely the outdoor balcony with a fantastic view of Madrid! I spent time on this balcony every day, especially enjoying the sunsets. The room was spacious, simply designed, but I felt comfortable there. All the furniture was in very good condition. My major concern about the room was the dirty, dusty curtains, which definitely should be washed from time to time. Also, the refrigerator was old and yellowish inside, and it did not cool much. I would replace it for sure. I would also definitely switch the chairs on the balcony for better, more comfortable ones and add a table to make it more pleasant for hanging out there. The rest of the room amenities were good. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large and beautifully designed with marble. Having a bathtub was a plus, though I wish it were bigger. The bathroom amenities were of okay quality; I did not like their smell much. The Wi-Fi worked fast enough during my entire stay. I must note that the room was not soundproof enough; I could clearly hear all the noises from the hallway. The hotel’s location is perfect! It is very close to the heart of Madrid, right on Gran Vía Street. All major Madrid sights are easily walkable. For my stay, I paid €137 per night, and I find this deal reasonable for the specific room I got. Having the balcony, plus the outstanding city view, definitely made my stay in a generally basic room very enjoyable. I would likely stay at this Meliá hotel again in the future, and I absolutely recommend it.

We had a great stay here. The breakfast add-on was well worth it, offering a big variety of delicious choices. Being on Gran Via, this hotel is in a very busy area with restaurants and shopping very close by. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our room was very small but also clean and quiet. I appreciated the laminate flooring. My only complaint was that our beds were so hard. One of the beds really sloped where people probably put on shoes. Perfect choice for our needs and I got a great deal.

We moved into this hotel after one night at the Hotel Mayorgoza nearby. So glad we did! We traveled with our adult son and did not 2 rooms so the Family room at Hotel Madrid provided us with ample beds and SPACE - something not available at the originally booked location. We were placed on the 5th floor with a view of Plaza España from our nicely sized balcony. Yes, Gran Via can be noisy if you must leave your window/door open since the AC was not yet operational - but no crazier than a midtown Manhattan hotel. The bedding for the bunk beds was not the best - VERY thin mattress - but after walking all day you’re so tired you barely notice. The room has 2 chairs with a small table, end tables by all beds and a desk and chair. The bathroom is equipped with a bidet and heated towel rack. Breakfast was included with our room rate and it was amazing! Great staff, fresh bread options, pastries, daily fruit selection, hot food options and. 2 self serve coffee machines. Highly recommended

If air conditioning is important to you, then this hotel is not for you. Everything else is excellent- the staff, the room size, the location, the cleanliness and organization. However, the room I received did not have proper air conditioning when received and was still weak after the filter was replaced. The second room they found for us after a sleepless night also had this issue. This was the deal breaker for me, especially with 90+ degrees Fahrenheit weather in Madrid. It’s likely due to the age of the building and the AC system. If you are not like me and do not mind a lack of air conditioning, then this is an excellent hotel
