This is our second time in this hotel. Its strategic location in Madrid's Retiro neighborhood, with the vast El Retiro park right at its doorstep, is its greatest appeal. Not touristy, yet within striking distance to the central district where most of the historic sites (e.g. Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Almudena, Royal Palace), restaurants, and shopping are located. The metro stop Principe de Vergara on the red line is just a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. Within the Retiro neighborhood, there are a lot of good restaurants and bars so this is an option if you just want a relaxed meal near your hotel. A tip: If your like us that wake up early and get breakfast before heading out, your best option is to get the breakfast buffet in the hotel. There are no QSRs in the vicinity and most coffee shops don't open till 10am. The hotel rooms are modern, spacious, and nicely laid out. Would stay here again in our next visit to Madrid.

We had the pleasure of staying at H10 Acala in Madrid this year, and it certainly lived up to the excellent standards we've come to expect from H10 Hotels. Having also stayed at H10 establishments in Tenerife and Estepona earlier this year, we were delighted to find the same high level of comfort, service, and attention to detail here in Madrid. The hotel’s location is perfect—situated in a quiet area but only a short, leisurely walk (less than five minutes) to both the beautiful Retiro Park and the nearest Metro station. It offers the best of both worlds: tranquility with the convenience of being well-connected. For those who enjoy exploring by foot, busier parts of the city are an easy 20-minute walk away. Additionally, there are several charming cafés nearby, perfect for breakfast or a mid-morning coffee. Make sure to make use of the fantastic rooftop bar, which has amazing views of Retiro Park. The decor and ambience of the hotel are nothing short of excellent, with tasteful and modern touches that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our stay coincided with the Christmas season, and the hotel’s festive charm made it all the more delightful. We highly recommend H10 Acala for anyone visiting Madrid. Once again, H10 Hotels exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to staying with them in the future!

“The comfiest bed ever!!!”

We recently stayed for three nights during our long weekend in Madrid. The hotel is in a nice and quiet area, just a few minutes walk from the nearest metro station (Principe de Vergara). It's really easy to get here from the airport - just get line 8 to Colombia and then change here onto line 9 to Principe De Vergara. The journey takes around 35 minutes. (Or it's around a 20 minutes Uber journey for €28). The metro has good links to everywhere in the city. Getting your ticket is relatively straight forward - you can get a multi card from the self service machines at the airport station and load it up for however long you require. We arrived around two hours before check in time but our room was ready and we were allowed to check in early free of charge which was much appreciated. The room itself was a really decent size for a city. The bed and the pillows were an absolute dream - seriously the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in!!! The room was well equipped, a TV, ample hangers, a safe, a mini fridge etc. The air con/heating was really good and it didn't take long at all to either cool down or heat up your room. We were in room 602 and our window was facing inwards into other sides of the hotel so the lighting we got in the room wasn't the best. The bathroom was again a good size and we had a shower over the bath. Could've done with a little bit of TLC in the sink where it was a little worn down and the shower where it was a bit grubby/maybe mouldy on the shower screen. But nothing too major. The rooftop area was a real highlight - it can get popular on Saturdays but they reserve an area for hotel guests which is really nice. Lovely to look out onto the city with a drink (very nice range of cocktails on offer!). There is also heaters for the chillier nights. The pool is a plunge one so understandably was closed during our stay (I believe it is open May - September). Overall, we were pleased with our stay and would recommend if you are looking for a good safe base for your trip.

“Bit of a mixed bag. Rooftop restaurant the stand out feature.”

First the less good. Went with 2 other couples. Had requested a double room on high floor. Got twin beds on the 2nd floor whilst one of our friends were on the 3rd floor and both others had large double beds. The beds in whatever form were comfy. First the less good. Went with 2 other couples. Had requested a double room on high floor. Got twin beds on the 2nd floor whilst one of our friends were on the 3rd floor and both others had large double beds. The beds in whatever form were comfy. Mould on the bath sealant was quite bad and shower screen leaked. Toilet dripped/overflowed ( into the toilet ) in the night. One pair of friends had turn down chocolates every night. we had them one night from 3 and the other friends none at all. Free bottle of water and decent standard coffee were replaced every day. The really good points of the hotel were at the top and bottom respectively. Breakfast was great - lots of variety both hot and cold and good quality. However one of our friends found a long hair in his scrambled egg one morning. Friendly welcome and helpful staff. The rooftop bar is excellent. Great food, drinks and Maria and Gregor were exceptionally friendly, attentive and efficient. The pulled pork tacos, cheese board and desserts were particularly good. Great view of the city and Retiro Park. Not overly expensive and we spent some time there every day in between or at the end of a busy schedule.
