“Great Location”

Great Location beside Cathedral and approx 25 minutes easy walk from the train station. Staff friendly, rooms very nice, great value for the money you pay here, toiletries great, Brilliant shower. This is perfect hotel for starting the Camino from Leon.

The hotel was well priced and just a short walk to the cathedral which was our main purpose for the visit. It was easily accessed by car. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't available on the night of our stay so we ate in the bar. The staff were attentive and helpful. Because there was no freezer in the fridge in our room, they stored our freezer block in the hotel freezer until our departure.

The hotel is good and deserves more than my "average" rating. The room, the cleanliness and the reception staff were first class. It is just that the breakfast, which I paid for, for two mornings in advance, was really poor. There was very little prepared fruit (only sliced melon) and little other fruit to enjoy. The cooked food (scrambled eggs and bacon) was lukewarm at best and the eggs congealed. The hot water flask was tepid. Everything is obviously prepared for the earliest time available, and never checked upon, or topped up. On our second morning, we even saw a member of staff help themselves to some bacon and eat it with her fingers as she left the room. As a consequence we never entertained the idea of eating there in the evening.

Infantas is a decent hotel if you are looking for a value. The hotel is clean with parking for 10E in the building. The rooms are a decent size and they have a cafe in the restaurant with decent food. While the hotel is a bit off the beaten path and seems to be more in a residential area, it is a 7 minute walk to the Cathedral and Old City. Location and price were a priority for us and this met the criteria. Do not come expecting a great view as our room overlooked 3 trash compactor bins and we happened to be above the parking garage which made a loud whirring sound every time a car went inside our outside. Service was ok - nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, a good value hotel.
