I was in a business travel in Madrid and decided to explore La Alberca due to a friend's recommendation. This hotel is a hidden gem. Huge rooms, junior suite with a balcony with a garden view. Comfortable bed although the mattress needs a replacement shortly. Breakfast full of different choices. Waiting and Reception staff are extremely friendly and polite. Nothing is a problem for them, except language barrier. They do their best and even without speaking English properly they engage with the guests. However, the reception manager (Francesco, I think) was always available for us, his English was perfect and a proper hospitality professional. Gave us very good recommendations and told us briefly about the hotel, towns to visit, what to eat,... Definitely, a place to come back and recommend.

“A place to relax”

Great getaway for relaxing. Rooms were spacious. We had our own terrace. Nice and cooler temperatures than surrounding cities. The outdoor swimming pool is a small walk from the main building. Great getaway for relaxing. Rooms were spacious. We had our own terrace. Nice and cooler temperatures than surrounding cities. The outdoor swimming pool is a small walk from the main building. We also tried the spa facilities that is at an extra cost. The spa area is well worth visiting. We also had a massage. That was a bit pricy for what you got. The details make the difference from giving it five stars. One thing was for example the breakfast buffet that was a bit scarce for a hotel of this size. There was little variety, dry bread and too many sweet things in plastic packages. But that’s a detail. I highly recommend the hotel for a great relaxation.

I stayed in the villas that are part of the Pueblo Ingles language program. My single room with twin beds in a shared villa with living area and kitchenette was not luxury standard, but comfy and quirky. I got locked in a few times when the door stuck and the hair dryer didn’t work unless one of the light switches was on. No safe, but the property seems secure. I loved the spacious grounds and the easy walk to the medieval village of La Alberca nearby. Highly recommended if you would like to slow down in a quiet corner of Spain. I didn’t try the spa because it was pricey and full of noisy kids. AC not working in the gym, so it was a steamy workout.

Really lovely hotel; the building and its surroundings are stunning, as are the Las Bóvedas restaurant and the Mudéjar Bar. The staff are really friendly and helpful. There wrong room was allocated to my friends and the issue was solved promptly and in a very friendly manner. There are quite a few stairs to access the lobby. I would have struggled to get to the top if I had carried a bigger suitcase. If there was another way in, I did not see it. The rooms are lovely but need a little bit of love (the furniture is a tad dated). Overall, it was a really good experience and I would not hesitate to recommend.
