I felt compelled to write a review after staying here, because I panicked when I read some of the reviews that had been left before! I think some people have overreacted a little, so I wanted to write about family’s positive experience. The check in was absolutely fine for us - two desks available when we arrived, both staff members greeted us in a friendly way. Handed over passports and details were entered into their computer. We signed to say we were who we said we were and were given keys to our family room - two adults and two teenagers. We had a large double bed, poss king size and two single beds, a large terrace and decent size bathroom with bidet and the sink outside. The pool on the rooftop isn’t huge and there aren’t lots of loungers, but we were out and about most of the time and it was just nice to have a dip in when we got back from our day to cool down before getting ready for dinner. There was a great area outside the bar with tables and chairs and a few sofas to sit at too and enjoy the evening sun. The bar was open all day and closed at 9pm when the pool closed. Breakfast was included in the rate we had booked and so we had it every day. I wouldn’t say it was worth €28 per person, but it was fine for what it cost us. There is plenty of choice, pastries, cold meats and cheeses, breads, sausages, eggs, beans, cereal and fruit. Also juices and tea/coffee. The location was a bit of a way from the city centre - but there were always taxis outside and it was never more than €20 to get anywhere we wanted to go. Uber is also available but there are so many taxis in the city that it was just as easy to grab one of those. There was also a bus stop a 5 min stroll away which is a cheaper option. It’s based in a business area and has a multi screen cinema nearby and various restaurants and fast food outlets nearby (McDonalds and Burger King and KFC). Having given 5 stars, there were a few things to be aware of - it’s not completely perfect, but it was lovely and worked well for us. I think because it’s pretty reasonably priced some groups of twenty-somethings go there in groups, so it’s busy with a lot of younger groups who are quite loud and boisterous in and around the pool and going out late in the evening. Some groups did run up and down the corridors and knock on doors having been out drinking - didn’t bother us at all, they were having fun, but if you have little children this might not be ideal. Where they have family rooms for up to 4 people, they did put groups of adults in these and on our last night there was a large group drinking and playing loud music and out on their terrace. Again, not a big issue for us, but might not be good for families with younger children. The terrace also overlooks a row of houses and the car park entrance, so isn’t picturesque, but is large and a good space for what it is. I just wanted to share our experience because, having travelled to Barcelona from Madrid on the train and read recent reviews on trip advisor on the journey, I panicked and almost booked another hotel!! But we went to see how it was first and I was really pleasantly surprised. I would go back again.
