Good hotel within 15 min cab ride (£12) excellent roof top bar with pool that bar that wasn’t open - lost a star for that - should be made clearer on website as the whole point of our birthday celebrations was the roof top bar Rooms are excellent with great showers - gym downstairs was ok Bar area and outside patio were good but hot breakfast let down the rest of the buffet/ bacon was horrendous! Plenty of taxis outside and bus to les rambles short walk (h12) Ok hotel but little too far out of city for the party liking so will not return

“Generally excellent”

The rooms and communal areas are adequate and clean. We had a family room on the 4th floor. The rooms and communal areas are adequate and clean. We had a family room on the 4th floor. We never had an issue with noise, rooms were made up as needed and had a small fridge and air conditioning as well as a kettle for coffee and tea. Most of the staff were fantastic, particularly Maximilian and Melissa. Reception staff were always polite and helpful. The pool is small, but fine for a dip and children to play. The WiFi was good - I had a job interview on my final day and no issues with connectivity. It is a business hotel, and the only issues we had were with this - our last full day we had gone into the city, returning to the hotel for the boys to go in the pool while I prepared for my interview. However, the 8th floor pool terrace was closed all day due to a business event. There was nothing in the reception to advise this, and no advanced warning. We would've changed our plans had we been aware. This was disappointing as the hotel knew this would be the situation but didn't share it with holiday guests. It is presumed that their business clients take priority over tourists, which sadly perpetuates the idea that tourists aren't welcome. We didn't see any of this hostility at all during our stay. The hotel is also very expensive for drinks. However, there are a number of small businesses along the road and the Gran Via 2 opposite has chain restaurants. We made effort to use Catalan as much as our Spanish, and I would encourage any visitors to do this - we heard a number of British voices ordering in English while the service staff hesitated and it was cringeworthy! It's not hard to learn simple phrases! Dos cervezas grande si us plau (2 large beers please). There is a small corner shop opposite the hotel selling essentials including pastries, drinks etc. The bus to the Placa de Catalunya is the L95 and is frequent from the main road. Walk down the road opposite to the hotel, past the Gran Via 2 or the road by McDonald's at the other end of the shopping center. You can use a credit/debit card on the bus but you can get a travel card from the metro station on the opposite side of the road from the bus stops. A family card (tarjeta familia) is the only one that allows for you to use one for multiple people, you scan it on the machines in the middle of the bus for each person when you get on. It's just over €10 for 8 trips (the same as €10 a day to the city and back for a family of 4). The journey is about 10/15mins and the return stop is where the bus terminates in the Placa de Catalunya. We arrived late at night and got a taxi from the airport which was just over €20. The hotel isn't far and there are always taxis outside so we got one back to the airport too, but the aerobus does go past on the main road. Happy travels!

Positives- Good location for metro and near a shopping centre and not far from airport Overall look of the hotel modern Bar staff in pool area friendly Room cleaned daily Storage for cases after check out Nice toiletries provided in room. Negatives- Bits in the room were very tired considering the modern look- random white stain on chair, black marks up wall, leaking tap which meant everything I put on the shelf under the sink got soaked, shower looked very grotty and worn. Coffee in room not topped up although requested daily . Hair dryer broken at back which ended up ripping a large chunk of my hair out. Reception staff never said hello or bye- which I have never not had in a hotel not even a smile as you walk in and out. There is only 8 sun beds up top. Along with some leather chairs the rest are standard tables and chairs found it very difficult some days to get some where to sit. Cleaners were very efficient however the hoovering was done around 9am but the hoover was being banged into the skirting boards next to our room- maybe this could be done slightly later?
