Today our last day, unfortunately, in some ways pleased to go home. A few areas that need attention and most in line with previous reviews. The hotel itself is nice. It’s a fair size and the staff are friendly and helpful. A taxi to Playa del Carman is 10 minutes and cost €6 each way. Animation team try their best every day but it’s not in your face which is great. Honey rum and coke over the watered down beer. Watching the planes arrive over the sea and so close is fantastic to watch. The beach is literally on the door step and is lovely. Shops are a 10 minute walk to the right of the hotel along the beach front and you will eventually arrive at playa del carman where shops are plentiful and good prices. Now, a few areas we didn’t rate on our trip as positives. Firstly, the house keeping. She came once a day and mopped the floor, added another toilet roll and maybe replaced a towel if she felt the need. All 4 beds in our apartment hadn’t once had their sheets or pillow cases changed. Unfortunately, on day one I didn’t take my make up off and left a slight stain on a pillow case, the stain is still there now we just had the pillow turned over each day or swapped around. We built up a large stack of plastic cups in our room which were only removed the day before we left. Bathroom floor was slippery, shower had a mind of its own and the toilet never once cleaned. Beer is watered down of course. Fizzy on tap all day and night. Pool bar floor can get slippery where kids are in and out of the pool to the drinks and back again. Rules about sun beds aren’t enforced so by 9am there isn’t any. Food is so repetitive, we found something but by day 3 we felt sick with it all. Dinner and lunch are by far the worst. I had under cooked meat at one point. If you want to book for a meal for Italian or Chinese you may as well book when you make your reservation for the hotel as apparently everything had a waiting list and wasn’t available. The pool is way too small and deep for the children meaning it’s hard to get in and out the pools for splashing and kids which is understandable. But not a great experience for adults or less able swimmers. All in all take what you will from my review but don’t expect 4/5 stars.
