This is greatly located if you are in Gijon so from that point of view 5 stars, but the rooms look tired, they need a coat of paint and the bathroom needs updating. A hotel which such good location could do with a little updating, though not doubt probably then it would be more expensive. Our room had only a window to an indoor patio which made it quite gloomy. The staff where nice and attentive and the parking arrangements with a car park next to it where very convenient. So stay if location is your top priority but don't expect a great deal for the room.

Ok Place. Older hotel. Good area for shopping and exploring, near, but not in, the historic district. The breakfast was very good for the price. But note that it is a continental breakfast only. Don't plan on eggs cooked to order. Just a note also that there is no air conditioning. This isn't really a problem most of the year, but just a note. Also, the elevator is small and their registration/security process requires you to leave the key on the first floor (second floor for Americans) when you go out and collect the key on that floor when you return. This means the small elevator (think about 1 person with a suitcase max) is really getting a workout and you will occasionally wait. Not a big deal though since the price is lower than most. Also just a note that as an older hotel, rooms are small and halls are narrow. Things like that. But I would certainly stay again, especially if looking in this price range.

The hotel was situated in the centre, close to restaurants, shops and the beach. The staff were all very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed watching a couple of programmes in english...ask at reception for menu code for the remote if you want to revert programmes/films to their origional language. Deducting a star for noise levels in the morning while we were still trying to sleep. Not sure if it was staff or guests but requesting a room on a higher floor might help. Great value for comfort and location.

“Very good value”
Right in the centre, meaning great location, at 33 euros for a single room (with totally acceptable en suite) this place is excellent value. Clean & simple room. Much better than some "pensiones" nearby that charge almost as much. Recommended for those travelling on a budget.

“Comfy, cosy and clean”

It has everything you would want from a basic hotel. It's not going to win any beauty awards, but it does exactly as you need for a sleep and shower. Accommodation isn't cheap in Gijón, but this place isn't astronomically priced so its good on that basis. And you really can't beat its central location - 5 minutes walk to the Alsa/bus station, 10 minute walk to the old town, right on the main shopping street... etc. My room had a fan as its only cooling mechanism aside from the street-viewing window, which was a little noisy on high speeds due to speed rattle, but the lowest speed kept me cool and wasn't a bother.
