“Nice hotel , but go Bed &Breakfast”

A nice old style Hotel. Very clean, with extremely friendly staff. Pool area is small , but comfortable . Buffet breakfast in basement is very acceptable . Dinner in Restaurant with waiter service but Half-board very disappointing ( same 4 , poor quality ,choices for main course and starter every day . Only cake or fruit as dessert. ) Alternative was to use the very unusual Restaurant menu with an insufficient allowance of only 20 euros. Carmona is a lovely historic and uncrowded town 21 km from Seville ( 3 euro each way on bus ) with very friendly residents and plenty of historic sites

“Value for money & good standard.”

On the edge of Carmona old town, great views from the front. Carpark not used as we couldn’t get our car in either one as up ramp too steep in one & downhill ramp too steep in the other. Granted we have a v low car, but worth bearing in mind. We managed to get a spot outside purely by chance on the road. Staff all pleasant. Restaurant staff especially helpful & hardworking. Reception staff helpful too. Room was lovely, looking out to the view. Large bed, comfortable, all v clean, bathroom a good size too. We were on half board- breakfast had everything you would expect & staff happy to replenish dishes. Evening meal choice was restricted- but there was still plenty of choice. Pool area has pigeon issues, they need to put a bet or wires over this courtyard to discourage them. Pool could do with TLC. Saying that I swam in it & I survived! Hotel is in a good location to get to all the towns historic sites, however a bit of a walk to the Roman necropolis, 25 mins. A lot of things are shut on Mondays or have restricted hours. In the basis of what we paid for DB&B this was pretty good value.

The hotel covers a vast area and our early arrival gave us a good chance to explore. Downstairs turning right from reception there is a very large indoor courtyard with some of the most uncomfortable furniture we have ever sat on. However, there are plenty of cushions so if you grab some it's quite a pleasant place to sit. In the other direction is an open lounge area with piano and beyond that the door to an outside terrace with pool and covered seating. A great place to be in good weather, but for us it was cool and a little rainy when we were there. So we continued through the door at the end of the terrace into the restaurant and then bearing right to a small bar area. We were very pleasantly served here and had a chat with the barman as we were his only customers. Our room upstairs was comfortable and well-appointed with a large bathroom. Suitably rested we ventured into town more in hope than expectation. It was Easter week so as we anticipated there were processions, and the town was heaving. So we beat a retreat to the hotel restaurant. We don't normally eat in hotel restaurants as we find prices to be higher and the quality generally lower than those places dedicated solely to food. But this was an exception. “Our barman” was serving and quickly found us a table. We had a very good inexpensive meal accompanied by good wine in a very pleasant ambiance - a particular shout out for the house white wine of which we had two glasses. It was from Huelva - nice to see the hotel showcasing wines from Andalucía. We didn't have breakfast and I can't tell you about the hotel parking as we were lucky enough to get a space on the free parking outside. Also, we couldn't really evaluate the outside facilities because the weather was against us, hence the four out of five rating but I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we intend to visit again when better weather can be more guaranteed.
