We stayed twice: once in February and once in March just as everything was closing due to Covid 19. Originally a palace, then a posada. Parking available immediately next door. The décor looks unchanged in 100 years – but this is not a derogatory comment. Stone and wood floors, brown furniture, tablecloths so long that it looks as though a brasero should be underneath. Rooms comfortable the window opened onto a blank wall just across the street. Room 101 was larger and with a good view over the square. At breakfast on our first visit there was a good selection of yoghurt, cereals, cold meats, tortillas, cheese etc. On our second visit the restaurant was shut and there was a more limited choice in the café, however understandable in the circumstances. At €69 for B&B this was extremely good value – although we understand that at the end of February B&B was up to €120 as there was a major fair in Zaragoza. Supper was less good value as we chose to eat á la carte. Started with the local ‘specialities’ – migas aragonesas and garbanzos con congrio, neither particularly good, then lamb cutlets and boar stew, both passable but ordinary. €69 for the meal with wine. On our second visit we had the €15 menu del dia, wine included; much better value although the rabbit was very dry. Would we stay there again? Definitely yes for B&B but we would have supper elsewhere. Rating: at least 4 stars for the excellent €69 B&B, but only 3 stars for our supper. Say 4 stars overall.

An old building with character, for the rest it looks a little bit on its last leg. We stayed for one night and stayed for dinner. We wish we had made a different decision (from a service, food quality and house wine point of view). Then the breakfast is an "interesting" experience, there is some kind of a buffet but you cannot help yourself and it seems from what we understood that on top of a coffee and an orange juice you are entitled to 2 items.

A bit hard to find, satnav didn't help and road works and a road closure for an antiques market outside the hotel didn't help but a very nice location. Beautiful building inside and out, a bit quirky. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The restaurant is bigger than it looks and serves a reasonable menu del dia. I had lentejas (a typical Spanish lentil dish) followed by the biggest rabbit I had seen on a plate on Spain. The wine was pretty good and the service good. Unfortunately we were woken at 5.45am on a Saturday morning by someone outside pressure hosing something very loudly.

“Beautiful building”
The building is beautiful and in the old part of the city. The room was spacious but could use a bit of maintenance. A bit of new paint and a new shower as hardly any water comes out. The bar is nice. We tried the restaurant but did not like the food at all. Breakfast was very good.
