We went to Berga to take part in the Patum festival which startes at 21:30h and finished very late at night, so a place to sleep was needed before continuing our journey the day after. Luckily for us, we found this nice resort in the outskirts of Berga with its wooden pleasant bungalows. In addition to that, we also saw it offers many services to spend some days of fun with children. As for us, the bungalow we stayed in was perfect, clean, very well equipped (it even had air conditioning and wifi) and cosy. For your information, I'm attaching some pictures so you can have a look and make up your mind (and don't miss La Patum, probably the wildest festival in Catalonia! :-)).

“Loved it!”

Great place for families as long as you are willing to adapt to a Spanish routine. Getting up around 9.30 - 10 and going to bed about midnight. We found this easy because of the heat. Great place for families as long as you are willing to adapt to a Spanish routine. Getting up around 9.30 - 10 and going to bed about midnight. We found this easy because of the heat. Lots of activities for kids and the site was very clean. There was a 30 min disco every night for the kids then some other entertainment from approx 10-12pm. Restaurant food was enjoyable. Outside pool was clean and lifeguards were strict without ruining the fun. Staff can only speak a little English, reception staff were good. Had I been able to speak catalan /spanish better we would have got more out of the holiday, I did learn some though which was a bonus, thank heavens for Google translate! Social area is separate to bar but is essentially family friendly, you can take your own food and alcohol to it though. We didn't want to come home.

The site itself is largely used by Spanish families who have large permanent set ups. At weekends and holidays this makes it busy. If you do not like kids running and cycling around until 1am then this is a major downside. The pitches are large, with water and shady plus there is a large car park off behind the site for cars. This at least means that there are not vehicles moving around much within the site. The large central toilet blocks, laundry etc were kept very clean and were very well maintained. The site was kept very clean and tidy. The restaurant has a good menu with well cooked, locally sourced and sustainable produce forming th basis of the dishes. The shop is extremely basic. No fruit or veg but fresh bread each day. In summer there is a good entertainment programmed for the kids and some evening music. The tennis and panel courts were well used, particularly by flood light in the evenings until 11pm when it had cooled down. The outdoor pool was refreshing in the summer so we did not pay to use the indoor pool (You can use it for free after a treatment but you will need to wear a swimming cap). The water slide was well used by the kids. There were trees around the lawn by the pool and a large social area and patio gave welcome shade in th heat of the day. For us, the major down side was that it was difficult to walk and cycle into Berga with kids as there was a main road it he way. However, there were lots of excellent way marked trails around the area and information available just outside the campsite on the way to the main road from the tourist information office.
