“Great place with amazing rooftop”

Love the hotel. Location is the best and the team here are superb. They are friendly and accomodating and they all speak english! The rooftop is unbelievable with views, great food and fab drinks. Rooms are recently renovated, súper clean and confortable. I recommend you visit.

Location, location, location! Very centralized on a corner from a school. One block from one of the Gaudí houses and walking distance to the high shops. Metro stop very convenient within minutes away. The crew is very friendly throughout the property, the breakfast has a very good variety of hot and cold items. I loved the baguette with ibérico and cheese every morning. If I come back to Barcelona would stay there again. Elevator had a few glitches but plenty others to choose.

The lobby staff are exceptional. Friendly, reasonable, thoughtful. Reuben was a stand-out. They say all their beds are “king size”, but I disagree. We moved rooms and the bed in the second room was definitely a true king, while the first was certainly not. They were great about the upgrade to a bigger room and didn’t charge us for it, which was a pleasant surprise. The A/C is pretty standard for Europe. The first room - when we adjusted the air - nothing happened, but the second room worked as one would expect. It took 20 minutes to begin to cool off, but as is sometimes the case in Europe - it didn’t do much about the humidity. It’s just something you have to accept. This particular hotel is very well situated. You’re just a block off Barcelona’s “Fifth Avenue” with the Gaudi house, lots of shopping, and tourist eateries. It’s also within a block of the rail and subway lines. It’s within about 4 blocks of a Sixt car rental agency and surrounded by pharmacies if you’re in need of things like distilled water. Housekeeping was adequate. We did breakfast in their CRU lounge a few times. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The buffet had lots of options, but each day we heard (and felt the same way) guests say that the vat of scrambled eggs was not appealing. And they weren’t. I don’t know if it’s that they had too many eggs in the thing, but the eggs were often dry and dense. If they offered a smaller vessel of eggs and filled it more often it could solve the problem. But you can order a number of things to be made for you (included in the price) or do an upgrade for things like Eggs Benedict (which were OK, but nothing special - sometimes hardly any sauce, sometimes the yolks were over cooked, sometimes whatever the bread was that they served it on wasn’t toasted/grilled). They also have a rooftop lounge that seats 20+ people or so and has some wonderful views. This is the only place we’ve stayed in Barcelona so far, and we plan to stay here again on future trips so the small issues are just that - small. One thing that was kind of annoying (and I get the climate change reason for it), is that when you leave the room, you pull your room key out of this mechanism that cuts the power to the room - which means none of your tech charges while you’re out. If there was an outlet exempt from this - it wasn’t mentioned or labeled in any way. Ask the front desk if there’s a work-a-round. It was a pain.
