“Great spot and excellent service”

Had a great stay. The hotel was situated very central with easy access restaurants, shopping etc. Have nothing to complain about. The hotel was clean with excellent service and the staff was very accommodating. Would highly recommend this place

After reading many critical reviews on this site, we were pleasantly surprised by the Indigo Plaza Catalunya. It is easy to reach by multiple metro lines as well as a rail line, all with direct connections to the airport and main train station, just two blocks from the hotel. True: the hotel corridors have surprisingly loud music, but it was impossible to hear once inside the room (the doors are very well sound insulated). Our pool-view room came with a terrifically firm, comfortable bed, fine styling, and uncommon amounts of storage space. A small couch-and-desk area near the large window (that opens, for air) created a second space. Inexpensive breakfasts nearby were better (the Alsur Cafe) or worse (Zenith Cafe, truly dreadful), but both easy and within a block of the hotel. Healthy lunches at Flexbowls a block away also won us over.

Disclosure. I was leading a group, and check in can often take longer than for individuals, but on arrival, despite being aware of our imminent arrival, only half of the rooms were ready. There were other disgruntled guests already at the front desk with the same issue. It took over 1 1/2 hrs to get the remaining room keys. This was after their stated check in time. I would suggest part of the problem is disorganisation, but IHG also allow a LCO to 2pm for members. How does that work if everyone's a member and housekeeping have 1hr until the next guests arrive. Personally I think it's a fail and would be reluctant to use an IHG hotel again for that reason. As a thank you for our business we were offered a fruit platter and profiterols. After three follow up calls spanning 3 hrs we eventually gave up any hope of seeing them. I told the front desk about this and she either didn't register or didn't care because there was no apology. The one shining light is Angelica. She did her very best to get our group checked in asap after her colleagues had failed so miserably to do so prior to our arrival. I commend her efforts.

Easily accessible by airport bus and aan 8-10 min walk After alighting walk straight ahead and turn right when you see Max Zara at the junction and cross the road when you see Aldi. Check in took some time although there were 2 guests ahead. Our agent had informed us that the hotel had promised to upgrade up to an executive room . At check in, we were given room keys but was not told of the room category. When we went to the room , there was no upgrade to an executive room - which wasn’t a big issue as we wanted to rest after a long flight and didn’t want to wait and change room. Was disappointed when the body soap gel was not replenished by housekeeping when I returned to the room later in the early evening. When I brought the empty bottle to reception for a refill, was told that it was too late and I had to wait for till the next day. I told the staff that I needed to shower when I came back later after dinner. The staff again repeated that I had to wait till the next day to get the soap gel. Seriously ? I insisted that I needed to shower and that they should refill the bottle. Could they not have gone to get another bottle from an unoccupied room? Fortunately, another staff Jess said he will help look into the matter and subsequently managed to refill the empty bottle. If a hotel staff cannot fulfill basic guests requirements like a body soap gel refill, he’s probably in the wrong industry.
