We stayed in the Hotel Balmoral for 2 nights to be already in Barcelona before we went on a cruise from the nearby port and to have a day of sightseeing. This is a lovely hotel. The first thing that got my attention as we walked through the front doors was the most amazing scent. The lobby and hotel itself has a lovely smell. The décor is really modern and classy. The staff on reception were very welcoming and professional. It was nice to have our bags taken from us and delivered up to our room. We had 2 connecting rooms as we are a family of 5. The room was spotless and I really liked that it had a laminate wood floor instead of carpet. The beds were very comfortable. Even though we were in the middle of a busy city we couldn't really hear the hustle and bustle from the streets below. We had breakfast there both mornings. It was relaxing, there was a great selection and again the staff at breakfast were polite and helpful. On our full day in Barcelona it was raining in the morning so we decided to take the kids to the Big Fun Museum, we asked at the hotel reception to book tickets for the museum which they did it was very helpful. We had packed no umbrellas or rain jackets and on leaving for our day of sightseeing we were presented with hotel umbrellas which we were so grateful for . The hotel is in a great location to see the city and the taxi drive to the port was very short from the hotel. We didn't get a chance to use the gym or beauty spa at the hotel but would have if we had more time. When we return to Barcelona again we will definitely return to Hotel Balmoral. Our stay here we felt so rested and it was a great start to our upcoming cruise .

Great Hotel, welcoming on our arrival, room very comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Big bed and strong powerful shower! The Hotel ‘s location was perfect for us, we walked out everyday to the nearby restaurants and onto Las Ramblas and gothic quarter, port etc. we would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Great choice for staying in the Diagonal neighborhood/”

We stayed at this hotel traveling with a Gate 1 Travel tour. I would rate it a 4.5 star hotel. The hotel was clean with all the amenities, but the rooms were a bit small. We stayed here for 4 days and it is a lovely hotel, really clean and the beds are very comfortable. You can walk to quite a few places that are close by, la rambla is around a 20-25 minute walk away plus the gothic quarter is a little bit further. We also walked to the beach area which took around an hour. You can of course get taxis, buses etc. real fast at the hotel was your normal continental with the addition of scrambled and boiled eggs plus mushrooms and sausages. We found the front desk staff we encountered to be unwelcoming upon arrival and departure with no greeting or have a nice day which for us let the place down, although the girls on the breakfast were very smiley.
