“Lovely hotel, great location and staff”

This was the perfect place to stay. The rooms are so comfortable and well designed, I had the best night sleep with the blackout curtain and inner door to stop any noise. Our room overlooked lots of greenery which was lovely. The staff here are so friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome. The breakfast is really good with an excellent selection, being freshly replenished. The bar in the lobby and roof top bar were also nice to sit with a drink. Location is great too, we walked to many places from the hotel. Would recommend without hesitation and would stay here again.

“Great Location, Great Staff”

The Gran Havana Hotel is in a great location, 20 mins walk from the Sagrada Familia and a taxi rank right outside the hotel for two cars so on your door step ! also a bus route just outside to get to main station no 12 bus same side as hotel, if you are thinking of going to Montserrat by train. ... more

The Gran Havana Hotel is in a great location, 20 mins walk from the Sagrada Familia and a taxi rank right outside the hotel for two cars so on your door step ! also a bus route just outside to get to main station no 12 bus same side as hotel, if you are thinking of going to Montserrat by train. The staff at this hotel are brilliant all of them are very helpful and happy to help you. the hotel is clean and good standard with a nice roof top bar and pool, also a gym but we did not use it. It does have a restaurant which is a nice room but the food is ok, but i would eat out if i came again as its not expensive in Barcelona. The breakfast is a good selection so no issues with that. I would definitely stay here again.

“Great hotel but let down by their fire policy”

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel particularly the roof top bar. The house keeping team were excellent and the hotel was in a great location. Unfortunately on Friday 7th June the fire alarm went off at 11pm and we made our way to the outside of the hotel and stood on pavement. There were a number of guests stood outside but no member of staff was visible and told us what was going on and whether it was safe to go back in. After 10 mins guests started entering the hotel ( with no instruction from any staff member or official person it was safe to do so !). A receptionist was actually checking some guests in as we returned. Through another guest we found out a guest had used an incorrect phone charger in the mains which had created a burning smell that triggered the alarm. This guest had spoken to the only other member of staff available which l presumed was the duty manager. A couple of days later l spoke to a receptionist about our fire alarm experience and how no staff menber had been visible and no fire protocol had been followed. She said it was all fine and there was only one staff member on duty at the time of the alarm. I queried for a hotel with 145 rooms there is only one staff member available throught out the night and no duty manager? She confirmed that was correct . Their fire policy is very poor and if there was a real fire l would be very concerned. In addition to this we witnessed on several evenings the rooftop bar fire door is locked and guests are told by the bar staff to use the lift !!!
