“Very good stay”

Location is good. Safe area. Very clean rooms. Staff is friendly. They change towels and clean everyday. Kitchenette has everything. Very good apartment 5 metro stations are nearby wuthin walking distance Recommended. I would definitely stay there again

New owners have remodelled the place completely, and in doing so, prices are currently hiked up quite a bit, and it's not all due to inflation, i am sure. I cannot give an opinion on current issues, other than....rules.... Apparently, even if you book an apartment, you are NOT allowed to have guests at all, who are not registered to your room. This was not the case with previous owners. At my stay in 2016, I had a friend visiting from my home town. We were going to spend one partiular day together all day and I invited her to have breakfast with me that day, No problems at all. But according to the current rules, that is no longer permitted. This is a shame, because one of my closest friends lives around the corner from t his property. and I would have loved to offer them coffee or tea. But can't even do that now. This is completely ridiculous and on that basis alone, I will never book with them again CAUTION - BOOKING ISSUES (1) The last time I had reserved a room with them, a few years ago, there was no warning aboutt any deposits at all. They took the ENTIRE AMOUNT of the booking from my credit card right away. That's outrageous. The bookin as made about 4 months prior to my stay. When they did that, I ended up booking elsewhere (2) I recently took a look at their room/apartment offerings for a trip I am considering. The way they advertise rates, is ver sketchy. They first show rates called LONG stay, It is NOT shown that a deposit is required. Then further down it shows STANDARD rate and for that, yes, a deposit is required. But guess what. They will still take a deposit for both rates. I wanted to do a tentative booking under the lower Long Stay Rate, and they wouldn't confirm reservation without a depositl. It's not that I object to a deposit but they should indicate it in writing and they don't for both rates (which in face differ in price) LOCATION. This is a quiet residential area for the most part. There are many supermarkets and grocery stores within short short distance and this place is right across the street from a 'to die for pastry shop called BOCI. It's pricey but worth it. You an also sit there ane have breakfast if you don't feel like cooking This place is extremely convenient to about 3 subtway stations from which you you go to to the touristy areas if that's your thing (not mne!) a) Plaza Moline/San Gervasi station is about a blok or two up from the hotel, The Gracia metro station is about 2 or 3 blocks (short ones) down from the hotel, Both these stations serve the same railway/metro lines. I prefer the Gracia station. Its more modern Then there is the FONTANA Metro station. That one is approx 4 - 5 blocks from the hotel. Blocks are not long. If you plan on taking the metro to/from the airport, I would highly recommend you use Fontana station. It's part of the L3 Metro line. From the airport, you take the L9 Sud to Zona Universitaria. and there you transfer to L3 line, direction Trinitat Nova. They are ramps from one line to the other, Great if you have suitcase. Then you exit at Fontana stain station. (previous station is Diagonal). Then on the way back to the airport, you go to Fontana station, take metro direction Zona Universitatia, then there, transfer to L98 Sud, etc. Note: It is possible to acess L3 metro line from the other subway stations close to the hotel BUT and a big BT...you'd have to transfer to the L3 Line at Plaza Cataluña, and with luggage...uh...you want to definitely want to avoid that station. Too many pick pockets and other unsavory characters in that station.... I personaly prefer to take a taxi to the hotel, if i have luggage, especially at night. It's pricey, but frankly, I like the convenience Only other thing I would caution you about this hotel and it's location, is to try and find out before hand, if there is roadwork nearby. There always seems to be roadwork going on and it's noisy and annoying. The last time I was in Barcelona, I couldn't stay at this properly, lack of availability. but there was construction less than a block away from the hotel door, right outside the Boci pastry shop. Super annoying I might stay here again next time I'm in town (possily february 2025), but only if I can manage to discuss an exception to the no visitor rules which is ridiculous. i'm a senior in my 70's and it's not like I'm going to go partying!!!!! PS. I always book directly with the properly. Lower prices than any of those booking companies

“In a word " Uncomfortable "”

The name of this property is a total misnomer. In reality it is a fairly new block with two nice restaurants and a reception area on the ground floor and 30 apartments of various sizes on eight floors. It is not a Hotel. The pluses.. We had a two bedroom apartment which was very spacious and on the fourth floor, which meant that when necessary I could use the stairs to get out of the hotel. I would not want to be higher up the building as having one small lift could and did mean a very long wait for the lift to arrive. The block ( note I do not use the word hotel ever) is very well situated to tubes/ buses and restaurants. All the staff we met with were charming . Even if they did not have the answers I wanted !! Serviced apartment suggests some level of cleaning. But at this block, they rush into the apartment empty the bin under the kitchen sink, maybe change a couple of towels and rush away. On one occasion the toilet did not get cleaned and as they do not supply a toilet brush ... It stayed dirty. Yuck . and we did not get any clean sheets during the time we stayed !! There is no dishwasher, so you have to try and do your own washing up without a drying rack or a tea towel to dry up with. very tricky logistics and signing that I was responsible for the cost of all breakages meant being very careful !! Be warned !!!! Check out procedure requires you to clean the apartment, and leave everything washed up and all the garbage removed by us to the rubbish bins in the street !! this is a first for me anywhere in the world. Walking through reception with a garbage bag is definitely not a repeatable experience. We were told that the apartment has to be individually checked by a manager before you get your 100 Euros deposit refunded. as a result we changed our travel plans for the departure date to allow enough time to do all of the above. As I anticipated this could be a very time consuming process. The lift process alone added many minutes to the check out procedure !! We actually missed our train out of Barcelona because we had not allowed enough time to check out. We had only one very hard sofa bed / and a table and four chairs in the lounge. In one bedroom there was a chair. In the master bedroom there was no chair and all the fittings were there on the wall for a TV ..but no TV !! Kitchen was just about adequate, although you really needed a manual to get the induction cooker to work and I gave up on the microwave !!. Not having a corkscrew supplied in a kitchen in Spain seemed weird !! The air-conditioning / heating thermostat had a mind of its own and regulating the temperature in the apartment was a task in itself.. The ceiling lighting through out was stark to say the least. HORRID !! Really harsh ceiling lights everywhere which were blindingly bright at night time. And there were no other lights at all.....Thank heavens for a smart phone with a torch, as if you put the ceiling lights on in the middle of the night, you would really wake up in a big hurry. The apartment had the sort of lighting you would only use if you were hunting for some thing very small that you had dropped on the floor. Construction of the block seemed cheap. The double-glazed windows did not keep the noise out and when the occupants on the floor above, checked out at 0500 one morning, we all woke up as the ceiling insulation is non existent. No blinds on any of the windows, which as all rooms were overlooked meant some level of discretion was required or just leaving the curtains closed most of the time .. There is one modern TV with no English speaking channels at all.!!! I checked with reception and they happily confirmed there were no English speaking channels available. A first for me !! Boring!! Wi FI was ok in the lounge area but did not work in one of the bedrooms at all. It did intermittently cut out but overall it was Ok. In the bathroom there were no glasses to put toothbrushes into, and the floor was incorrectly laid enabling you to flood the entire bathroom very easily. Which i did very successfully..!!! boring .. and then despite the fact that we are supposed to clean the apartment when we leave , there is no mop...!!! We were not told that there is a Nespresso coffee machine ...which is great as we have a Nespresso machine at home , but we then had to find a local supermarket in a foreign city that sold Nespresso capsules .!!! Easier said than done !!! . We could so easily have brought a few capsules with us ... This is a Client Experience that nobody has thought through .. Have any of the managers spent a night staying in an apartment . I suspect not. We really enjoyed the location, and having the space of the large two bedroom apartment was great, but it was actually uncomfortable. I found the sofa bed really uncomfortable to actually sit on, so spent all of my time in the apartment sat on a dining room chair as that was the only other choice. The lighting was really not good news and the cleaning and rubbish rules on checkout were equally not great news. Luckily we travel with a blue- tooth HD sound system so we could listen to our music. This apartment needs some TLC.. some more furniture and the TV system definitely needs upgrading. And the whole Client Experience needs some serious focus. Overall By the time I had been staying here for five nights I was more than ready to check out and if it had been possible we would have left a day early.. By this point in time / I was even getting irritated by the fact that the fridge was wobbly and the door opened the wrong way, !! a very basic mistake and easily rectified. No easy way of drying the towels was boring as there was always a shortage of towels and having a shower in the morning with a damp smelly towel is not my idea of fun.. And I am not overly keen on having to make my own bed on holiday!!! Yep !!! I don't think a repeat visit is on the horizon ..
