“Beautiful view, friendly staff, terrible breakfast”

“Four Stars???”

Someone need to review this rating. Maybe back when it opened. Outdated furniture/decor, strange smell/odor throughout. Breakfast was good, buffet stile. AC as listed here, unserviceable. Staff (2) very friendly. Parking available at a cost or free on the streets.

Yes, guests at Hotel Ciudad Cangas De Onis have highlighted that: We stayed one night before hiking in the Picos de Europa, and we liked the place. It is not an extremely fancy hotel, but it is nice and clean and comfortable. It was very easy to find, but it was also away from the main part of town, so it was quiet and peaceful. Free wifi in the rooms, and it worked great. We thought the price was quite reasonable. The view from our room was gorgeous - the room looked out onto the river Sella, and we had a view of the mountains and green pasture. We woke up to a lovely sunrise and roosters crowing outside. The woman working at the desk was very nice and helpful. As far as I could tell, the staff present the night we stayed didn't speak English - I only spoke with them in Spanish. We payed a little extra for breakfast - maybe 6-9 euro. The breakfast wasn't worth 1 euro. It was just little prepackaged pastries. Go to a cafe down the street for a little breakfast - don't waste your money on breakfast here.
