Quite a detailed review, largely because some information on the hotel is difficult to find. As has been mentioned by others, the hotel could do with some updating and redecoration, but this was not a problem for us, and everything seemed clean. Designed for winter, so no A/C: potentially an issue with temperature in mid/upper 30s, but our room was cool enough with windows open throughout the night (no insects). We took the half board option, which was very good value for the location and season, with a small discount for advance booking. Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of products: no complaints except the coffee was truly dreadful! The restaurant is definitely a dining room. Dinner consisted of three choices for starters and main courses, and a dessert "buffet" (some "industrial" cakes, tired looking fruit and I had the last slice of melon). Two of the starter options were steamed broccoli and lettuce salad with 4 anchovy fillets. Main courses 2 meat, 1 fish were simple and good, although the fish was served only with a few salad leaves. They have an efficient system, serving quite quickly, and most people leave without lingering over their meal or ordering coffee. Nice outdoor terrace, as well as indoor bar and lounge space. Reasonable bar (and restaurant wine) prices: trained bar staff who made a range of drinks. Various tours and advice on local hiking routes etc are offered. Finally, the pool is not the hotel's: it is the town pool, around 200-300m away. Free entry to hotel guests with a card you can get from reception with a cash deposit: this information was not offered at check in. We would return, but eat dinner elsewhere. However, the hotel offers good value, especially for families with younger children.

We have spent 4 days there with numerous friends to celebrate the end of the year, and it has been a great experience, mainly thanks to the staff of this hotel, nice, smiling always ready to help, congratulations to the person in charge of the seection! Then eventhough the hotel has its years , it is perfectly clean , the hall, the rooms really great job. The bar is welcoming and the barmen knows how to make nice cocktails .. to a very reasonable price. Food is OK , waiters are friendly and very efficient , the maitre Andres has an eye on everything and is as well sincerely helping to organize the tables . One point could be not that positive , depends how you look at it,,, the situation of the hotel is ideal, just in front of the bus stop to get to the slopes, very central in the village, with the inconvenience that this place is quite noisy at night and insonorisation not at best for the rooms on this side. The hotel offers great value for money and we will defintely be back regularly.

I have not stayed at the Nievesol for years but went to sample the Formigal 50th Anniversary cocktails, which was delicious. I have not stayed at the Nievesol for years but went to sample the Formigal 50th Anniversary cocktails, which was delicious. The service is terrific, with a choice of some 45 gins, 20 plus each of brandies, vodkas and whiskies. Our questions about the different cocktails were met with enthusiastic replies. Worth a visit. The bar is spacious and comfortable.

“Good for a short sky trip”

Although hotel was comfortable I found the whole building, rooms and facilities old fashioned. I think hotel needs a renovation. Breakfast was plain and staff were just average. This was a summer trip, I just hope winter is more under control.
