We stayed in this hotel for four nights in mid-February. This is a modern city hotel over five floors with a basement and a total of 98 rooms. It is one of several hotels owned by the same chain in central Almeria but seemed to us the best located and of the best standard. It is in a central location with easy access to the main shopping street and tourist sites. We travelled from Malaga by bus – it takes a couple of hours. From the bus station (and train tation) a taxi costs €5. It is too far to walk with luggage. There is a car park on site which is chargeable – on street parking is well-nigh impossible. Entry from the street is into a reception area with a small amount of comfortable – if exposed - seating. From reception there is a large, comfortable lounge at the rear. The bar and restaurant is in an adjacent building although accessible from the hotel. There is a generous amount of outside seating between the hotel and the street. There is a gym and a solarium/spa but we didn’t use any of them! We had a junior suite which in addition to a bathroom and bedroom had a sitting area with TV, table and chairs and a sofa (which would convert into a bed) and a very comfortable chair. We were situated without a view overlooking a passageway from one street to another. This was occasionally noisy – particularly at night – but otherwise noise transmission was low from within the hotel. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was a fridge and a safe. The bed was a very generous double with good linen and memory foam pillows. The bathroom was fitted with a double hand basin and a bidet in addition to the WC and bath. The over-bath shower presented a rain shower in addition to the hand wand. The bath had a low side. Towels and toiletries were fine. The aircon/heating was excellent (and was needed on a couple of cool evenings!). Wifi was free and more than adequate. Breakfast is served in a dedicated room in the basement but it is light and airy. The range of food on offer was limited for vegetarians but of good quality – there were hot and cold selections, but rather ordinary. The buffet servery did become a crowded area even when the room was not that full, but there is plenty of space in the breakfast room to sit and eat. There were staff in attendance to help and they were clearing tables promptly – they were very helpful and very professional. We had great trouble with the bar and restaurant and during our stay could not work out when these were available. The bar is part of the restaurant with no separate seating area. The restaurant has a limited number of tables inside and more outside but was never full. The restaurant seemed to open for a couple of hours at lunchtime and again at 20:00 hrs – we think, it was never admitted to being open when we asked. The bar was equally confusing, however we found other places to eat and drink nearby. The bar/restaurant staff were not that helpful. Apart from the bar/restaurant all staff were very professional with the reception desk being exceptionally helpful. Housekeeping was fine with our room and the public areas in good condition, clean and tidy. Apart from reception most staff only spoke Spanish. We saw no evidence of package tour groups. We understand there to be accessible rooms. The area might prove difficult for wheelchair users because of the extent of civic works. The hotel is mid-priced but we thought good value for the room that we had. We would recommend it – but be aware of the difficulties that might exist with eating and drinking during the day and evening. This is a city centre hotel that service business people as well as tourists. It does both very well.

We stayed at Hotel Nuevo Torreluz for 5 nights in September and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We stayed in a standard double room with breakfast included. Firstly, the location is fantastic if you are planning to explore the city on foot. It is located a 2-3 minute walk from one of the main street. There is a Carrefour Marketplace approx. 5 minute walk away. Key sites such as the cathedral, plaza de la constitution, civil war shelters and the casa del poeta are reachable within 5-10 minutes of walking. The tourist information centre is also nearby and is a helpful place to stop by at beginning of your visit to pick up a map. On arrival we were welcomed by the concierge who was friendly and helpful. The main room was basic but functional, there is a large wardrobe, table & chair, desk as well as a mini fridge and safe. There was no extra charge to use the safe which was a bonus. The bathroom was modern and clean. Overall, the room meet our needs well. Breakfast was continental, with guests serving themselves. There was a variety of options available from cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cakes to cold meats, bread and bacon, sausage & eggs. Hot drinks were available as well as fresh orange juice and water. We did not eat at the on-site restaurant (Taberna Nuevo Torreluz), instead we chose to eat out at various restaurants in the city. If you are looking for a good ice cream I'd recommend going to Alpino's, they had a great variety of flavours available and the scoop sizes were great. The beach was a 30 to 35 minute walk away, however, there is also a bus that leaves from the main street regularly. The beach is a mix of pebbles and sand. If travelling from the airport you can either get a bus and walk approx 10-15 minutes to hotel or get a 15 minute taxi. Overall, if you're looking for a good quality, clean and welcoming hotel in the centre of Almeria I would recommend staying here.

“Satisfactory”

The best thing about this hotel is the situation as it's very central for visiting the town. Everything else was average but we have no complaints as our stay was satisfactory. The room was OK as was the breakfast.

The position is excellent . Accommodation fine and Breakfast was good. Problem was the Taberna where lunch and Dinner was served closed mid afternoon on Christmas Eve and didn't reopen until the evening of Christmas Day....So, no restaurant and no Bar. The position is excellent . Accommodation fine and Breakfast was good. Problem was the Taberna where lunch and Dinner was served closed mid afternoon on Christmas Eve and didn't reopen until the evening of Christmas Day....So, no restaurant and no Bar. If we had been warned when booking we could have made other arrangements , it was too late when we arrived everywhere was fully booked. Definitely not we expected from a 4 star Hotel.

“Central.”

This hotel is pretty basic , rooms are small ,even though we paid for an upgrade. This hotel is pretty basic , rooms are small ,even though we paid for an upgrade. Everything worked , it was clean and the beds were comfortable, decent toiletries, absolutely no view , but very very central for the old town and all the restaurants,tapas bars shops and Christmas lights. Breakfast ..pre booked at 8€ was good value , plenty of choice, , .. but parking was difficult and expensive.
