Just next to the beach and some nice beach side walks the staff of the Melia hotel make it a great experience. They are friendly, very helpful and maintain a great standard in room service. The buffet breakfast is the largest variety of excellent foods I’ve ever come across in a hotel. If the tea is not right for an Irish person nothing is right! You made tea with lukewarm water from the boilers but they did get boiling water for us each morning on request. Festival of St. John June 19th to 24th meant great brass band parades in trad costumes in the evenings AND loud, loud disco music from the beach every night ‘till 4.30am yes! 4.30am!…I found that a nuisance. Fireworks and bonfires nightly from June 25th to 29th meant loud bangs after midnight and the prolonged sound of car horns… I could have lived and slept without that too! Nice clean hotel, food, staff and pool…nice area around hotel but not a lot to see in Allicante in general and while English is spoken in hotel but outside only by some and fluent English is rare. It’s fairly expensive but taxis (get metered ones) and public transport are reasonably priced.

Not our first stay but once again the experience was excellent. The location is great, not quite in the centre of the Old town but very close to it and super convenient for the beach, which is very clean and well maintained. The location is great, not quite in the centre of the Old town but very close to it and super convenient for the beach, which is very clean and well maintained. The “Level” is well worth the extra and as expected, the service, cleanliness and helpfulness of staff was first class , we shall be back.

“Beautiful hotel in a great location with staff with a great can do attitude. ”

Location of the hotel is perfect....beach is yards away as is the marina area and town centre is a 5 min walk with the usual array of good quality bars and restaurants. Location of the hotel is perfect....beach is yards away as is the marina area and town centre is a 5 min walk with the usual array of good quality bars and restaurants. This hotel has lots going for it ..the rooms are spacious and the views at breakfast/bar are breathtaking. The best thing, however, is the amazing staff ... from the reception team who had a great can-do can help attitude...to the cleaning team who were exemplary. Definitely will be back to sample the excellent service and facilities. Only negative, perhaps, is the gym/pool area could be better, hence not quite top marks.

Chose the hotel as it is right by the beach so the location is perfect. Also the steps from the pool area lead directly onto a little promenade which is a lovely place to sit and walk by the sea. The pier walk is also very nearby as well as the beach promenade with cafes restaurants. The castle can also be accessed by a bus that stops pretty much outside the hotel. The marina area is also just outside the door so nice to have a stroll there and sit and look at the boats. The hotel is also just across the road from the main walkway with all the restaurants and shops and squares and art galleries. The room was big and spacious with big comfy beds, lots of lighting options. There was a big dressing table/desk with a kettle and coffee tea sachets and fridge with drinks to buy. The bathroom is also very spacious with nice toiletries bath shower and bidet. The balcony was a bit disappointing as it was quite small and we didn't get any sun on it so would need to ask for a room on the other side. The breakfast was brilliant, plentiful a lot of choice and they even had real honeycomb . The breakfast room was so nice in the morning with beautiful views of the beach and castle and warm sun shining through. The swimming pool area is quite small and the water fairly cold although managed one swim and people were doing lengths in it. There were sunny spots to sit on the loungers and its s nice view of the sea. We were half board. The food was a lot ! The starters were a meal in themselves . I enjoyed the artichoke, mozzarella dishes , salad , duck. The food was well served by the waiters. The dinner area was relaxing. However there are so many good eateries outside it may be better not to be limited to half board. There was no little book corner but i think everything is online now. We had a standard sea view room and it looked like they were doing a lot of work on the marina side and also on the level areas. I only knew about the separate tariffs and level Adult only areas from a previous trip advisor review so it's not well advertised what is actually available on a standard tariff. The standard areas were fine for our needs especially in winter but there are other options with bigger balconies. Enjoyed Alicante and the hotel was comfortable and such a perfect location for everything.
