I had a previous stay at this hotel in December 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed it. This time I stayed in room 2302 for 4 nights in a premium room, which included breakfast. I thought my view last time was stunning, but this was even better. The room was kept spotlessly clean during my stay and came with the usual amenities such as a kettle, coffee maker, iron, robe & slippers, digital safe and there were sufficient power points. Considering the numerous floors in this hotel, I didn’t have to wait too long for the lift to arrive. I wasn’t able to book a room only option so I had breakfast for 3 of the 4 days. I couldn’t face getting up early on my last day to avoid the breakfast rush. There was sufficient choice of food for most palates, and plenty of it. The hotel is easily reached by taking the airport bus C6 and getting off at Puerta del Mar. I didn’t realise on my previous trip that there are numerous supermarkets nearby where you can buy water and snacks for a fraction of the minibar prices. You are also very close to Mercado tram station where you can get a return trip to Benidorm for less than €5. I really like this hotel and think it offers great value for money especially if you book in advance or have the Melia app or take advantage of Black Friday deals. It may not be the prettiest looking hotel in Alicante but once inside, it’s lovely. The reception staff were also very nice on arrival and departure.

“No better hotel in Alicante ”

A minute walk to the marina and right on the edge of the old town and centre. Easy booking and check in. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Restaurant and bar at the top with spectacular views over the city and sea, although it can get crowded and noisu, understandably!

The hotel is in a wonderful location, a few hundred metres from a lovely beach, directly opposite the harbour and immediately surrounded by an unbelievable amount of lovely restaurants and bars. The hotel is in a wonderful location, a few hundred metres from a lovely beach, directly opposite the harbour and immediately surrounded by an unbelievable amount of lovely restaurants and bars. The castle, a must visit, is a short walk away as is the tram station, and market. The hotel is quite old so the rooms are basic but do the job. Fitting a few more clothing shelves and hangers on the empty walls would really be a worthwhile investment, I find this in many hotels, but we managed. The views are excellent when in the top half of the building and the lifts were fine and never took longer than a couple of minutes. There was a slight smell in the lift areas as mentioned in other reviews, maybe drains but it was not that bad and not worth a negative review, and the hotel was generally very clean. The breakfast was generally good, and varied. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful. The panoramic views from the 26th floor bar and restaurant were amazing and a must see if staying at this hotel. My only complaint would be that the service, or lack of, given by a couple of the evening bar staff was not good enough. One lady in particular, the older one that evening (Jan 2nd) made it clear that she was in no rush to serve and was very rude when asked about it, as was her younger colleague. We left due to feeling so uncomfortable and found excellent friendly service in a bar just outside the hotel. I would not let this single bad experience sour the overall feel of the hotel as its generally good value, fantastic location and well worth visiting.
