I've written many negative reviews about Hilton properties over the years and just realized that I had neglected to write about the rare, positive exceptions. Probably because I normally write reviews - positive or negative - only if the property specifically asked for one. Well, the stay I had at the Hilton Millennium in Seoul, back in 2019 (I chose July 2021 because that's the earliest date choice offered in Trip Advisor's review form), was certainly a positive exception. This property was old and the decor was on the cheesy, dated side , much like most of Hilton's decrepit properties in the U.S.; but, unlike its U.S. brethrens, the Millennium was very well maintained, as clean as the very best places I've experienced, and everything in the room functioned perfectly. In this way, it's similar to the Westin in Tokyo - unmistakably old but in great shape. My experience was probably also colored by the fact that I was upgraded as a Diamond member to a very large corner room with great views through windows on the two corner walls, an incredibly lush bed with perfect pillows, and an oversized bath with tall windows with all the amenities one could want. The breakfast in the executive lounge was extensive and tasty, and the lounge itself was a distinctly pleasant place to, well, lounge around in. Couple things to note though - the property sits on a hill, so it may be challenging for some people to explore the surrounding area on foot. There is also some kind of a casino called 7Luck on the premise, which gives off a weird vibe and takes the Hilton cheesiness to a whole new level. In any case, much like the Westin Tokyo, the Millennium Hilton Seoul is usually a great 5-star bargain for its location, and where you can count on everyone and everything working as they should, or better.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip. The Hilton is very clean, well managed and the staff are very helpful. The hotel sits on a hillside uphill from Seoul Station. It is quite a step walk so if you have luggage, plan on a taxi. The Hilton is on the same hill as Namsam and the Seoul TV tower. The distance is short but the walk uphill is steep. Or there is a cable car. Just down the hill is Namdaemung market and a few malls. Breakfast at the hotel was good - served buffet style with choices for all palates. There are also several restaurants within the hotel. There is a Hilton Honors lounge on the 21st floor, but it is a tad underwhelming. The food and berate choices felt limited. Overall a good place to stay.

There is a steep hill to surmount and not the best way to end a long day walking around Seoul. While a shuttle is available, it is limited to certain locations and time. It would be great if the management could help alleviate this inconvenince allowing guests to move in and out freely

Stayed for 4 days at this hotel. Staff was fine during my stay , the hotel though it is outdated. Very limited bathroom amenities. The room I selected had plenty of space, bed was comfy, big screen tv with enough space for work however the worst was the internet. The hotel network was useless, you can select paid premium internet at around US10 a day....unconceivable nowadays when all hotels try to offer at least a good network. Very disappointing. The breakfast was a standard buffet, compared to other hotels I stayed , it was not outstanding. I had a dinner once and the cafe 395 and the food was average. The access is a steep hill so better be warned. There are many small local restaurants and cafes but if you are looking for something western, you may need to go to the surrounding business buildings basements where you may find some restaurants or walk to the station.
