Location: The beautiful city and ancient capital of the Shilla Dynasty lies in a large valley surrounded by majestic mountains. This hotel is set by the edge of Lake Pomun, 500 m from Gyeongju World Amusement Park, 1.5 km from the Sonje Art Museum, just 15 minutes from Gyeongju railway station and only 20 minutes from the centre of Gyeongju. The Bulkuksa Temple is 9 km away and it is 18 km to the Seokguram Grotto and 31 km to the Underwater Tomb of King Munmu. The hotel lies only a 40-minute drive from Ulsan and Pohang airports.

Hilton Gyeongju truly exceeded my expectations with its outstanding service and well-maintained facilities. As a Diamond member, I felt well-recognized and appreciated, with excellent perks that added to the overall experience. The executive lounge offered an impressive selection of food and drinks, far surpassing my expectations, and the breakfast buffet was equally satisfying. The spa and sauna facilities were also of a high standard, providing a relaxing retreat during my stay. However, there were a couple of drawbacks—the evening lounge hours were too short, limiting the time available to enjoy its offerings. Additionally, the ongoing construction in preparation for the APEC summit caused some inconvenience in the surrounding area. A special thanks to Mr. Woo-Sung Lee for his exceptional assistance during my stay. His professionalism and kindness truly made a difference. Despite these minor issues, Hilton Gyeongju delivered a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality service and comfort in the area.

“Good but not great”
It’s an old hotel and corridor smell reminds you of that. Rooms have been renovated though and mine was very spacious. Lack of electrical outlets by the bed was strange though. Dinner buffet was overpriced for the quality (85K) and 12K for local beer was adding insult to injury.

The hotel itself is very comfortable. While not luxurious, it's well-appointed and the rooms are a nice size and well-furnished, including with robes and slippers. Staff was very helpful, with decent English (although not as fluent as at the 5 star hotels we stayed at in Busan and Seoul). Decent four star breakfast, eastern and western. The big problem if you're sight-seeing or like good food is location. There's an amusement park and a lake very nearby, but none of the historic sights, nor an array of good restaurants. A 20-30 minute taxi ride is needed, but at least the cost is low - under $10 U.S. The hotel's restaurant has a large buffet, but a limited a la carte menu, and is IMO overpriced.

“Not the best Hilton we've stayed in”
Having stayed in a lot of Hilton hotels this was a little disappointing. The Italian restaurant was closed and we thought the other dining options were quite pricey. Having stayed in a lot of Hilton hotels this was a little disappointing. The Italian restaurant was closed and we thought the other dining options were quite pricey. Breakfast was included and it was good with plenty of options. The hotel is certainly out of the way if you are wanting to visit the historical areas of Gyeongju - you would need taxis everywhere. We also found it interesting that there were lots of signs / notices in the room about what not to do eg "Don't bring food in". We would look at choosing a different option if we visited again.
