“Safe & comfortable”

Comfortable & safe stay. The food was good and bedroom are big & comfortable. Friendly staff. Though I’d like a little better signage to indicate exactly where the reception is from front door. Wifi was reliable and easy drop off to nearby gardens

What a great hotel - we arrived here just after our flight landed to drop off our bags and the team were very friendly. Possibly due to our gold status we got a room upgrade to a 2 storey loft room which was amazing! There was so much room, beds were comfy, great to have a chill out sofa area with a tv for when my husband gets up early and can go downstairs to not disturb me! Shower was powerful and hot, 2 water bottles in the room and various different power settings. Breakfast was well catered for and although it says continental was our free benefit, we had hot and continental each day with great coffee! The team were very friendly and helpful. We got the complimentary shuttle down to the V&A harbour front, this is more of a base hotel to get Uber to and from, rather than near any particular attraction etc. great value hotel.

“Good Business Hotel”

We stayed for two nights at doubletree by Hilton cape town on Sunday to Tuesday. The hotel is located relatively close to main attractions such as V & A and offers free shuttle service to V & A which is really appreciated and the drivers are on time which is to be commended as well. Though our check in was at 14 00 and we reached relatively late, we were a bit badly surprised that our room was not ready. That was a minus point as first impression matters. We waited quite some time, maybe 30 more mins and got our room at around 15 00. We thank the person at the reception desk for his assistance in this matter and understand the constraints that the hotel has with regards to late check out from other clients. However, first impression matters and I strongly suggest that this be taken care of by the hotel. We booked the king loft suite which is very spacious and nice. The only issue we had was the light. Though we increased the dimmer to the maximum, it was still not sufficiently lightened up. Apart from that, the room is very nice especially if someone comes for business purposes. There are lots of spaces to relax and a beautiful desktop to work on. It offers that cozy atmosphere for work purposes. All the staff we met offered really good service including those at the reception. They would provide all the support we required especially for keeping our luggage and the late checkout. This was much appreciated. On the other hand, the food at the restaurant was very excellent. We were also pleasantly surprised to see a small shop in the hotel which was very convenient and offered lots of flexibility to purchase several items. On another note, I booked as a honours member and was offered free breakfast. Given that I came with my wife I did not pay attention to the information that the breakfast was for me alone as I was the only honours member. I was quite embarrassed when I was informed about this at the restaurant on the second day. I suggest that such information be provided to the client at the reception maybe to avoid any misunderstanding and embarrassment during breakfast time. I did not have any issue and agreed to pay the difference for my wife. We thank the lady who served us on the second day for her special attention when I informed her that we did not even have a proper breakfast on the first day as we were in a rush and was not aware of the supplement for breakfast I had to pay. On another note, as a tourist who came for our honeymoon, we did not really like the environment very much given that we were in a completely different environment surrounded by the sea earlier. We were fully aware of it and cannot complain about it. This is also why we booked only two days rather than a full week there. This is a matter of personal opinion and not a complaint. Overall, the hotel is amazing especially for business stays. We fully recommend a person coming for work purposes to try Doubletree by Hilton as he or she would get everything required.
