As a Marriott Titanium Elite / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, I made a reservation for our family (husband / wife / two teenage daughters) using my Marriott Bonvoy points for a five (5) night stay at the Sheraton Bratislava Hotel as the second-leg of our month-long European summer vacation. Simultaneously, I made a second reservation for two (2) nights using my Marriott Bonvoy points for the room next to our Executive Suite to be occupied by my wife's childhood friend and her husband, whom were nice enough to join us at the hotel so we would be able to spend time with them. Both reservation were made approximately one (1) year prior to our arrival date. Within hours after making both reservations, I emailed Nikola Krajciova and Jakub Havlicek and advised them of our future stay as well as our special requests. Shortly thereafter, I received a thoughtful reply from both Ms. Krajciova and Mr. Havlicek and they readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response from both Ms. Krajciova and Mr. Havlicek did not come as a surprise given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is a clear sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not only is the hotel located on the Danube River (beautiful views) in the Eurovea shopping area., but it is in walking distance to ALL of the tourist sites in Bratislava. We walked absolutely everywhere for the five nights that we were in town, although the hotel was very well served by buses, trams and taxis. The Eurovea area is relatively new with numerous restaurants, bars and shopping options. In short, you cannot get a better situated hotel in Bratislava! Our initial visit to the Sheraton Bratislava Hotel did not disappoint! We were greeted in the lobby by Manager on Duty, Ms. Dominika Cicvakova and the check-in process with Noemi in the reception area was a breeze. We were able to check-in immediately to our huge corner Executive Suite with balcony access and incredible views of the Danube River through the floor to ceiling windows surrounding the entire Executive Suite. Further, upon entering our Executive Suite a few minutes after check-in, we discovered that the Hotel General Manager, Mr. Martin Hurban, and his team were kind enough to provide us both with a typewritten and a thoughtful handwritten note welcoming our family to their hotel as well as a nice assortment of fresh fruit (apples, bananas, oranges, pears, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries), assorted nuts (four varieties) plus ten assorted macaroons. Further, they provided us with two (2) large bottles of local still mineral water and two (2) large bottles of sparkling mineral water, which was tasty and refreshing. What an incredible and delightful surprise on the part of Mr. Hurban and his team. We simply loved our Executive Suite, which was HUGE and very comfortable in terms of bedding, roll-away beds for our daughters and ample desks, tables and chairs for relaxing with stellar views the Danube River. The housekeeping staff provided extra towels, replenished bath products as necessary and provided several bottles of water daily. Further, the cleanliness of our Executive Suite was exemplary and for this we want to recognize the entire housekeeping staff. The complimentary Wi-Fi provided to us as Marriott Bonvoy Titanium guests was excellent throughout the entire hotel. As my Marriott Titanium amenity, our family enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant, which was absolutely stunning, as well as the evening canapes / hors d'oeuvres at the Club Lounge throughout the duration of our stay. The Club Lounge, one floor above the lobby level, has multiple seating options and it was an absolutely fantastic place to relax and rewind. Henny was outstanding ... he always had a table reserved for our group and he always greeted us with a smile and local beer or wine in his hand to give to us upon our arrival! Now, onto a description of the food and drink offered during the breakfast buffet, which we attended all five mornings during our stay. The highlights of the breakfast buffet include the specialty coffee drinks, such as lattes and cappuccinos, hot chocolate and hot tea (excellent variety herbal and caffeinated teas), delicious orange, cranberry or apple juice, various milks and nut milks. There was a nice variety of hot items each morning, including made-to-order omelettes, pancakes and a wide selection of charcuterie (prosciutto, salami, mortadella, mozzarella, cheddar, manchego with dried cranberries, figs, apricots and strawberries), crackers, oatmeal, bread, muffins, cereals, assorted yogurts and fresh fruit (oranges / apples / bananas / fresh cubed watermelon / fresh fruit salad). In short, the food and drink in the breakfast buffet was incredible and limitless! As far as the evening canapés / hors d'oeuvres offerings in the Club Lounge each evening, we enjoyed a wide variety of local Slovakian specialties (appetizers / mains / desserts) with complimentary wine and beer. In conclusion, the quality and quantity of the food on offer at the Club Lounge was outstanding and only exceeded by Henny's warmth and big smile! We also really enjoyed the large fully-equipped fitness center (a massive amount of free weights as well as cardio machines) as well as the heated indoor pool and comprehensive spa area (steam room / sauna / etc.). The pool area has a great bar as well as tables and chairs. Similarly, the lobby area was recently renovated and it is absolutely beautiful with group seating as well as private meeting areas of all sizes. The generosity and hospitality shown by Mr. Hurban, Ms. Cicvakova, Ms. Krajciova, Naomi and Henny as well as the rest of Mr. Huban's team throughout our stay was extraordinary. Every team member with whom we came in contact during our stay, including the individuals listed above, the helpful staff members at the reception desk and the other food & beverage staff as well as the house-keeping staff really went out of their way to make our family feel welcomed. Not surprisingly, the notable customer service that we received before and during our stay as well as the incredible accommodations in our Executive Suite, made this hotel a twelve out of ten in our book! My wife's friend and her husband thought exactly the same thing. If your travels take you to Bratislava, please don't hesitate to make this hotel your base of operations ... you won't be disappointed!
